I think the Chinese version is a more mature and darker version. The Korean one is very fluffy is comparison. Also, this is an older drama, visually the Korean is much better. That being said, I much prefer the Chinese one as I feel more depth in this version. Towards the mid to end, the plot, I would say, differ quite a bit.

Technically yes, but if you did watch the prequel you would see how the chemistry between the actors builds up. Other than that, you won't miss much.
