what makes this series different and better than the other versions ( in my opinion ): {considering ep 1 only}
1. the casting ( that being said there was no one who overacted or over reacted , very good performance )
2. the cinematography ( the visual of the drama is very pleasing , up to date . i felt the Japanese and the Korean versions were a bit outdated when i watched them cause they were shot long ago and since then there have been many changes in the visuals in the industry . this one had very nice color contrast and camera setups )
3. the story ( they tried their best to stay true to the og story but left a touch of their own . cause let's face it the og story can be considered very old-minded nowadays and viewers don't appreciate that type of actions , misunderstandings , aggressive behaviours , bullying fr no reason and all those stuff now . so i loved how they modified the details a bit )
4. the backstories or the reasoning of the actions ( i loved they kinda described the upper class ( more specifically thyme ) , their situations , their circumstances more and kinda tried to reason why they r the way they r )

u should know it is a good drama when i and many others couldn't refrain ourselves from watching it though we know it is 1 ep 1 week and will air until April 22

Oh my god, so that means she got selected and had spend a whole year in the palace before she died? ☹️
Even though it was nothing new that girls of such early age had to enter the palace, i feel sad for her cause i am pretty sure it was nothing she wanted by herself rather it was her family's( brother) choice and they brainwashed her

can anyone tell me if that creepy "hong" guy had his young ( who is literally a child ) sister enter the palace as a candidate for a woman of the king ??? or did I understand wrong

i haven't really watched that many saeguks but his portray of a " KING " made me wow in admiration . such a flowless performance

how can u not like this drama :D
it's like a short story in terms of literature . like Rabindranath said Simple events of life, happy or sad, Some sad strings from the train of forgetfulness, Not fraught with heavy descriptions, Not crowded with events, No advice, no philosophy Only the feeling that the story is not yet over Although there is no more to read.
to many, the ending might feel rushed but to me it is just perfect cause stretching it more would have made it draggy

they say don't judge a book by it's cover but after watching the trailer the drama seems sooooo promising my 6th sense says it will be good :D looking forward to watch this

boys over flower is like my guilty pleasure and this version seems like it's gonna be the same YET unique

well , mayb because she chose to defense instead of offence is why i felt dissapointed . i am personally someone who chooses offence so mayb that's why i can't accept or feel some of her actions cowardly( ?)

true but apparently the writer , the director and the diehard fans don't care bout it much as they all are like - chille , the king is a girl and when it comes out it's gonna be okay .
but those of us who love these small details , rational thinking just cannot unsee this

i would suggest to hold on and watch after the drama ends . cause i skipped through ep 17-18 alot . ofcourse there are intense , interesting moments but they r very few in number compared to the draggy, boring scenes

the first few episodes were very fast forward but now the last few episodes since her father died seemed draggy but I can't drop it cause I fell for the characters so much I need to watch the ending

the only disappointment I felt is that she was such a strong woman ,charismatic ,girl crush , better than many men yet after she became the king she became a useless puppet , she can't conspire , cn't force others , can't make decisions and all she wants is to find evidence ( like come one conspire against those who conspire against u . throw them out . why hesitate . u r the KING ) ofcourse there r political issues but still make people fear u otherwise they will take u for granted.
after becoming the king , all she has been doing is keep promising to reveal everything " later " and crying out of sadness

i really liked the first 1 eps . after emergency couple ig this is my first time ( in a while ) to watch a couple who after breaking up are this ready to bite each other's head off XD

I kinda like ( also disliked ) the fl's character . she is pissed off her life didn't turn out how she wanted and I disliked how she kept saying after becoming successful the ml started showing attitude . of course I get it she has some attitude problem but how she reacts to the ml is reasonable to me . i like their face offs
but I am curious bout the sml . he has a lot in his closet which he hasn't revealed yet and I am looking forward to it . also more depth into the ml , fl

ofcourse the drama is drama but every time I remember the fact that the real deok Im died of liver cancer along with her unborn child when she was 10 months pregnant at the age of 33 it hurts so much T . T .
yi san had 3 royal concubines and 1 queen . but it is said she was the only one he loved among his wives ( according to Wikipedia )

true . the man put ALOT of effort for this character ( his body , his eating with right hand , postures etc ) though many people were unsure about him leading the drama as a crown prince and future KING ( even the actor who plays the role of san's grandfather accepted the fact he was unsure too ... ) but by now i don't think anyone will be able to criticize his acting or his presence in the drama

considering how 97% of the romance kdramas have at least one kiss by ep 8 tonight they will kiss :D

not sure what led her to do so but getting a phd but then deciding to become a fashion blogger .........................nice :)

their love story hasn't even started . i think later the scenes will be very cute when they date each other ( watched some clips in the trailer and found them very cute ) . so at this point ( considering their coworker relation ) the chemistry is good ( neutral with some dugun dugun moment here and there ) . but mayb it's just me

from my understanding kai yi is the kind of guy who hurts people while being oblivious to their feelings ( especially girls ) but when he realizes his mistake and if he likes the person he will snatch stars and moon for them . i like him because of how cute he is to he dun but I can't see how many times he hurt people around him ( but ofcourse it's not his fault his good looks and good manners always attract girls )

i watched the trailer and the first thing that came to my mind was skate into love . but instead of the ml , it is the story of the fl with the 2nd ml ( cause he was a figure skater )
