As a nurse I completely understand your points. The ER visits for headache or one time fainting, the heavy wound treatment for a scratch, having a phonecall in front of a patient (I saw one scene of a phonecall whilst they were doing a small surgery, HOW?). Makes the story come off less real, to me. I understand that not everyone knows the ins and outs of the medical field, but I'd hope if someone makes a scene like that they'd do a little background check.
