I can't stand when the ML act so childlike (and i mean literally, especially in the scene where he goes to FL at night [the one where the dogs bark], like he really reminded me of a how a kid behaves ), i like a bit of childish stuff and aegyo but that's really too much to take on.
I can't with this drama anymore, It's basically just GangJu doing everything for everyone and receiving nothing, even worse he gets beaten around for being kind. I wish he could grow a spine, not even a lot but even a tiny bit would be awesome, but It seems like the writers really like this idea of a punching bag character for some reason, and i wouldn't even complain so much if at least one time he had the guts to protest and make himself heard but It's just been 22 episodes of him getting stomped by everyone and it's frustrating.
For example he's basically Always there for darim every single time, but the only time she went to him was to cry for taewong, like c'mon, i could kinda understand that this is a drama catered towards female viewers so the man is the one who puts more effort and chase around but here It's like 98% gangju and 2% darim like she legit showed nothing to him, absolute 0.
The only ending i'm willing to accept is gang ju and his mother living happily in that mansion kicking out that "father" so he can live with his (soon-to-be in prison) new family. Like literally everyone is stomping on gang ju corpse, from his father to the supposed love interest (Bro that last scene with her and him, i don't know if It was to supposed to be a funny scene but to me it showed that she cares nothing about him, after 20 episodes, It's crazy) and her whole family that hates him like he killed someone and that are supposed to be somehow his future in-laws. And even with all of this i'm more mad about the fact that he let this all happen without reacting, like he still wants his mother to stay with his father even with all that happened.
Haven't started this drama... But to answer you, it's the current trend. I started to watch k dramas in the early…
(talking about the First part of your comment), that's the point tho, in 90%+ of drama with the "meeting again after x years" trope the ML Is basically whipped from the get to go sometimes before even actually meeting, plus often he hasn't dated anyone else other than FL or even dated at all( even men in their 30s or 40s). I would like too see a ML that Is not set from the start on the FL that he hasn't seen in years, and also that doesn't reject all approaches of women who are not the FL in 1.5 seconds.

Yeah i started watching 2018-2019 so i lost most of what was before apart from a couple. I understand what you're saying, and i agree that as you described It the past trope is pretty bad and i wouldn't like It either. I'm saying tho that i would like for the MLs not to shut down every possibile approach apart from the FL like they were some kind of robot with a default setting on refuse everyone except x. Even if It was like for 1 episode It would really change things up at least personally. And this could very well co-exist with the FL-SML trope, it's Just that only the FL-SML part happens basically, and the SFL approach Is closed in like 10 seconds.
[This is Just my opinioni nothing more] I don't understand why romcoms never ever even try to give the ML the possibility of having attention for another woman other than the FL, ( i bet he didn't have a single relationship in the last 18 years too). And i'm not even saying that they should date the SFL, but even having a single slight thought about It, instead as Always the ML already shut down all possibile approaches, while the FL Is gonna be somewhat swayed even if by a little by the SML with the ML trying to chase. I'm not saying that this kind of trope shouldn't exist, but triangles like these represent like the 95% of romcoms, i'd like some variety especially in show like this where The MLs are well into adulthood.
Bruh, he already fell for her in the first episode ( and even if we could argue that he didn't really fell in love the preview for the next episode suggest it great time). give It at least some time to build It up, i'm already imagining the ep.10 break up.
Ba-da mom scolding and threatening eunkang repeatedly because She was getting close to her daughter husband fearing a possibile affair, only for her daughter to cheat kissing her ex (+ telling the story with additional details to eunkang herself Bruhđ)
He is not obsessed, is his crush for 3 years......and I don't find it weird...it happens in real life anyhow he…
I mean he Is obsessed. He was rejected in countless occasions. He asked her 2-3 times if she was regretting her decision and every time she said she wasn't, plus no not only he's supposed to be in a relationship(no one forced him really) but he knows that the FL and the SML are dating too, and he still stares at her desperately every single time she's near him.
The MIL has the most punchable face i've ever seen she really Is shameless. I want to like the husband as he seems like a positive character, but i really hate him with all my heart when, not only he doesn't put his mother in place and tell her to stop once and for all, but he also blindly defends her every single time brushing It off like she's doing nothing wrong and Is just some insignificant thing, like She's mentally abusing his wife and her mother but he doesn't seems to care in the slightest, i would divorce too if i was her.
