A message from Pi O that Yeong Jo only gets to read now. Yeong Jo finally realizes that the person he loves never wanted to hurt him, but was always looking for him and missing him all those years. But knowing this only makes Yeong Jo hurt more, because he was the one who pushed away and hurt the person he loves the most 😢
The writer is truly so cruel to Yeong Jo. Lost his mom, abandoned by his dad, poor and chased by gangsters because of his dad's debt. When he finally found the person who saved his life and got a few months of happiness, he was hurt by jealousy, almost died, ruined his hand, and lost his memory for 5 years. And when he came back, he was lied to. Is it really fair for him to give up music and become a priest? What did he do wrong to deserve such a sad ending?
I really hope the person who saved Yeong Jo's heart at 17 can save him one more time at 27 😔 There is only one hope left now, because no one can save Yeong Jo except Pi O…..
The more I learn about the behind-the-scenes of Four Hands, the more I realize how insanely well-written it is 😭 Pio and Jeongyo were never just friends or rivals—they were each other’s only refuge, while also becoming each other’s deepest wound. The Mozart–Salieri dynamic, Wuthering Heights, the “wolf loving the lamb,” and even Danse Macabre all beautifully reflect their relationship. Jeongyo wants revenge, yet he simply can’t stop loving Pio. They were meant to save each other, but somehow became the ones who hurt each other the most.
Song Kang's acting in this drama is truly exceptional. As an actor, being able to act with one's eyes is no easy feat—it requires continuous self-improvement if one is self-taught, or professional training for most. Yet, in this series, even without a single word of dialogue, just looking into Song Kang's eyes allows the audience to instantly understand what the character is thinking. You can see how Pi O's eyes look at Jeong Yo—whether at 17 or 27—sparkling as if they hold an entire universe. To Pi O, Jeong Yo is pure joy, a brilliant, starlit night sky. However, when Jeong Yo speaks piercing, hurtful words to Pi O in that waiting room, Pi O's eyes turn bleak and gray, completely devoid of even a single ray of light. That is just one typical example; in general, whenever Pi O is hurt by the one they love, their eyes seem to say that their very soul is withering away in agony. To be honest, the stunning visuals combined with that melancholy, sorrowful yet gracefully proud aura—so fragile it feels like a single touch could shatter it—make me firmly believe this role was born for Song Kang. His appearance alone embodies Kang Pi O through and through, leaving no room for debate.
Maybe what Jeong Yo wanted wasn't to destroy Kang Pio's hands. He seemed to lose control, repeatedly demanding: "How do you even understand this piece? Do you not feel it enough? Is it wrong? Too fast, too slow, too fast..." It didn't look like a standard rehearsal for a performance at all—it looked like Jeong Yo laying bare his deepest agony to Kang Pio. He was agonizingly telling him that he didn't fall because of a gunshot wound ten years ago; he fell because Kang Pio shot him in the shoulder countless times. Every time Kang Pio chose to stand by his mother, chose to protect evil, chose to turn his back on him, and chose to "compensate" him in ways he never wanted, he was pulling the trigger. Even though the metronome showed Kang Pio hitting the exact tempo of 160 beats, Jeong Yo had played this tortured melody tens of thousands of times in his mind—and he knew Kang Pio hadn't gotten a single note right (cre:tiktok)
