Because the timing for their love has passed...so them still having some feelings left doesn't necessarily mean they should get back together. I feel like what they just need is closure, getting back together would just be messy...there are some things that just shouldn't be rekindle and their relationship is one of them. It has long ended
If these two end up together, it'd be very unrealistic. It won't be an happy ending to me. They loved each other,they poured themselves into their love but it didn't work out and that's okay. Not all love work out, especially not the one where one person is pouring their soul and the other person is loving from the side, passively. Their chapter has ended, what they both need is closure and they they should move on. They have no reason to get back together. It's not like their love ended on happy terms of they were forced to separate. They've loved their love and it has ended eight years ago....final closure is the only thing remaining.
