Why yall blame Allen for his acting? I found that Allen was really good portraying a timid, shy, nervous man Zhousheng Chen. His acting's actually so detail, how he shivered, how his eyes worked, how his shy expression was, how he expressed with his smile, his body movement, etc, he's a genius for me. My mom even think so, my friend also think so. It's not because Allen couldn't act, but it's his charracterr. The character that maybe didn't match with your thirst.
Yall said that it's boring, and the male lead was so passive. The novel really said that yes he's a passive, because he didn't know about romance, it's his first love experience and he couldn't express his feeling very well. And SY also said, "because he didn't know anything about love, so I will the one who move first, teach him about love." But, that's the spark, the "slow burn" romance, slowly his love going stronger and more stronger.
Both Allen and BaiLu were portraying their characters very well and we must appreciate their hardwork, don't judge them easily, don't spread hate, don't slander the actor/tress. If you don't like it, don't watch. It's better than spreading your hate.

I think it's not the case. ZSC is a timid, discipline, and keeping his promise. Before in Bremen, they're talking about live together in SY's aprt, and SY's friend moving out and her room became ZSC's workroom, SY will added a bed in ZSC's workroom. They agreed that they will sleep separately (like in ZSC family house). When finally they came after their passionate love, ZSC said that "didn't we agreed to sleep separately.". That's because, they already "agreeeing". He was a timid, a nervous man and couldn't tell what inside his heart, and a discipline for keeping a promise. It's already a promise between them, so he went to his workroom, though actually he wanted to sleep together too. It happened before too, when SY asked him to enter her aprt for the first time, he thought it's not good for the manner between man and woman, though he really wanted to come.
She thought, he didn't need to change the profpic, no matter it's a 3-10 yo picture, if the actor/tress didn't have any majority change, they didn't need to change it. Maybe you can try. You'll meet her. Her charater as same as her profpic 🙃🙃 .

I felt it, when I first watched him in The Destiny of White Snake, I watched it because Yang Zi, then I was wondering why the male lead was hot handsome (at that time), but yeah, his acting was good. And then, taraaaa, I watched UTP because my curiosity, why it's so famous in China and he could enter the top 10 powerstar. In UTP he's soo dashing, his charisma was so impressive, his acting was much much better than in TDOWS, plus his eyes could speak, and starting to knowledge him, that he's handsome. Hahaha.. Now, he's very handsomee and having nice personality, plus a funny gag man... :D
This drama deserves more than 8.4 in rating. Beautiful story yet pain, top excellent acting, beautiful costumes, high quality cinematography, nice color combination, good setting both interior, exterior and landscape, top notch martial art, and so on. This drama is soo goooddd and saddest drama ever. Thankyou for all actors, actresses, Ma Bao Fei Bao writernim and OaO's team. Ma Bao Fei Bao really gave a beautiful yet pain detailing in this story and made this drama sadder 100 times than 5 chapters (ancient parts) in the novel. Can't wait for Forever and Ever. Tomorrow is September, so Forever and Ever is getting closer.
