I love this drama but I think the law cases, Woo and the Hanbada crew are interesting and delightful enough without…
I think the romance part was only a teeny tiny aspect of the plot but people managed to make it the entire plot. Just like you I don't get the green flag rave. Jun Ho was just another fine dude in a drama. Nothing more. And you're right people are now even mixing Lee Jun Ho with KTO, quite interesting...
Totally agree. In addition, I don't think she said these things in reality. People are starting a feminist campaign…
I agree with most of what you said. Yes, EAW is precious and its sad to see it get slandered. Concerning PEB's role, yes, it's difficult. We all face difficult jobs and all . But the difficulties me or you face shouldn't negate hers. If she said the role was burdensome and would not like to go back for another season, there should be nothing wrong with that.
Meanwhile, people's attention is fickle. Who is to say they'll love the second season? Who is to say all things they find charming about this drama the first season won't be what they find annoying in the second season? I saw people complaining about her continuous whale moments, boring cases, even the romance (some said it's too much). Why not treasure this drama and look back on it with fond memories than risk it being ruined by a subpar second season?
hmmm... i think there was a misunderstanding in the translation because i read on some other forums, they mean…
Here is what Park Eun Bin said
"“It's true that I did my best…but this was the job that was personally the most burdensome. I was tired a lot internally and externally. I did my best to do it well until the end and wouldn’t go back to change anything." "It is a difficult problem to ask about the position of Season 2.,As much as I have been loved, I will have more expectations and hopes, but if I think I can show you that I can surpass it, I can not give any confirmation at present.,I think it would be nice to put it in the treasure box as it is as it is.,If you ask me to open the treasure box again, I think I need a much bigger decision than when I first decided to face Youngwoo. "
Given what she said and had also implied in other publications, I still believe she doesn't want another season. Her co-actors can indicate interest after all they never had to bear the huge burden she bore all through. Again, I hope they don't pressure her into doing it regardless of what she really wants.
I am not finished with the drama and still watching it...but about a season 2 and the main female lead not being…
Really? "Mentally in can't be that hard?" She said she lived everyday as if she was having exams/tests for 7 months. She was not only on the spectrum but also a genius at that. She had to memorize long lines of technical whale information, legal terms, and all... Speaking really fast. She also needed to remain in character (in terms of gesture, gaze, and body movement). Surely it must have been easily for her :)
Just using it as an excuse... Right from the beginning, the biggest burden has always been on her as the lead character.
There have been numerous k-drama with multiple seasons so it's not unrealistic.
Wow, is this a safe space for EAW fan gathering or something? If somebody raves about this drama - he's objective?…
With most of them being your fellow "haters" hiding behind the guise of ObJeCtIvE review, I can see why they'd agree with you. But like I said, at the end of the day earlier, the numbers favour this drama... and it will continue to favour it. It seems people love it for being "terrible."
I just stumbled over an interview Kang Tae-oh did where he said, "I think I have a universal personality that…
He gets more hype than the FL because he makes dem ladies feel the hots. Isn't that why there are countless popular k-actors (handsome) with subpar acting skills while their female counterparts with actual talents continue to struggle just to gain recognition?
Wow, is this a safe space for EAW fan gathering or something? If somebody raves about this drama - he's objective?…
And in a similar regard, I can now see that you're not just rude but quite idiotic too. Like I said, your bitterness changes nothing. Don't like the show, continue to cry about it.
Wow, is this a safe space for EAW fan gathering or something? If somebody raves about this drama - he's objective?…
Another one spotted @aramintai. Like I said, everyone is allowed to criticise whatever "objectively" but most of y'all are just giving silly reviews that scream "I'm bitter. I'm miserable." Giving this drama anything less than 7 in a review invalidates the criticism because it's clearly not objective.
Ultimately this drama left me feeling satisfied. I'm not quite sure what I'm going to rate it yet but I enjoyed…
"Sometimes I think people make the mistake of making EAW into something bigger than it was intended to be, I don't think the writers ever expected it to become as popular as it did, but for what it is, a quirky case-by-case court drama, it has solid writing, a solid plot, enjoyable characterisation, and careful handling of a number of topics that are still very much taboo in Korean society. Is it perfect? No. But no drama is and it made my weeks better while it aired and that is more than enough for me" - This aspect of what you said voices my opinion. Thank you!
Listen Park Eun Bin got stuck at 2nd place on Good Data Rankings while the ML got 1 for weeks for absolutely no…
Personally, I would love more bad writings like this. If we have dramas where males are just used as background for the next few years, I won't mind. After we've balanced the equation, we can finally start looking at dramas where the FLs and MLs are of equal importance.
I actually find it funny that people are complaining about the influx of female-centric this period. What is wrong with it? Actresses are still at a disadvantage in the entertainment industry. Almost in every drama, there's a female lead and two male leads. When will more women get the opportunity to shine? Even in female-centered dramas like this, y'all still find a way to make it about the man or get mad that much more focused isn't placed on him.
I love coming here to read objective reviews but it seems that is now missing. I've seen quite a number of terrible reviews from Alchemy of Souls enthusiasts and frankly its hilarious. People are allowed to love what they love and dislike what they dislike but hating a drama for being popular is just plain out of it. Calling a drama "overhyped" and giving it scores like "3/4/5" is quite childish in my opinion. Terrible reviews still won't take away from the fact that people love this drama. The numbers say so.
Frankly, this drama had its flaws but it also excelled in certain areas which I will explain in my review soon. But whatever the case may be, this drama is one of the best I have seen in recent times (for both K and non-K dramas). If you want to give this drama a shot, do so without being clouded by the positive or negative reviews. Watch it as just another drama out there and form your thoughts on it as you go.
I say it again, Extraordinary Attorney Woo is a beautiful drama that will remain in my heart for a while.

When criticizing this drama, I hope y'all remember that it was never about the plot but about the character... Not characters but just one - Woo Young Woo (everything and everyone else in the story revolved around her). We saw her navigate through life in the course of one year. It was her growth story and they nailed it. For people complaining about Jun Ho's lack of backstory. Why is his backstory of any significance if it doesn't involve Woo Young Woo in any way? Jun Ho was just as important as Jung Myung Seok, Choi Su Yeon, and Geu Rami in this story... Not more than that. No, he wasn't your typical male lead because this drama techically has only one lead - Woo Young Woo (Park Eun Bin). The cast chart here says it all - https://asianwiki.com/Extraordinary_Attorney_Woo. There's Woo Young Woo standing alone and then everyone else falling into categories such as Hanbada, Taesan, Hairy's Restaurant, etc...
While not without flaws, this drama exceeded most of my expectations.
