TTG’s past life iteration was the Devil God that the 12 Gods sacrificed themselves to defeat. They really never explained if they cultivated to become Gods or were born as them. But they stated that MY only became the God of War after the previous one died (Tian Huan’s father) and he fought under him. So it must be when you reach the highest level as a member of the 12 you have to give up the possibility of reincarnation. (My own theory on the matter)

In the novel Xiao Lin didn’t play the part of Sang You in the dream he was another character. Those weren’t their previous lives. The whole dream of the past was a reenactment and they were just playing their assigned roles. If anyone was a reincarnation I could see it being YBC. But in the drama we were told when Gods die they are gone so no reincarnation for them.

Zhao Lusi usually does dub her own work but she used a voice actress for this one. It’s the same one who dubbed her in “The Long Ballad”. It’s crazy how close it is to her own voice.
