Too bad re: iqiyi

The latest episodes touch upon entertainment industry's murky waters. I really like Dr. Bi's final statement. The actor playing Dr. Bi is also really good.
In fact, I think all actors (including guest roles) so far have been good. The director must be good & casting must have been done correctly.

I don't really know the Chinese drama industry rule, but indeed actors seem to work really long hours, starting with make up, costumes etc. Even with the long hours, a drama normally takes around 6 months to finish filming. That's why I hope CY will be offered good modern dramas scripts soon. I also hope CY takes a holiday soon. Maybe take a bit of a break to join variety shows, film ads (I hope he gets more brand endorsement offers). He can start filming again after CNY.

Kiwi in chinese is mihoutao. I think it can also be called qiyiguo. So, guoguo is how CY fans call themselves. Blue whale? Not sure about that...

There are multiple cases in 1 episode, a mixture of small & big. Try watching a few episodes & see if you like this type of drama. The way this drama creates contrasts through its cases is very powerful. The production team has done a good job.

I think this type of drama will always be controversial. Even dramas that say they do not adapt from real cases, people will still find fault with. It's really upto the watchers how they interpret this drama's messages.
Re: AvenueX, I don't necessarily agree with her past reviews. Everyone's preference is different. Just happens that most people rate DTL highly.
