Its cute. I read a lot of comments about the ML being too immature or the actor being too young to play the role…
right like everybody’s emotional intelligence and development was on the floor 😂😂😂 idk that there was a single character who had self-awareness. maybe the business section chief cause she knew how ridiculous she was being but just didn’t care lol
The actors individually play their roles really well. No doubt about the good acting. But when they come on screen…
you bring up such good points with all of these. I’m really not sure why we found out more about ML’s side of things so much later. I guess it was easier to focus on her side of it since her trauma was more “obvious.” like we’d just be thinking oh silly kid why did he do that😭I think with FL and the workaholic thing, it made some sense as we learned more about her personally. like in her interactions with her family and Ha Jin. She basically trained herself to behave in a very certain way without considering anything else, and she wasn’t gonna stop or take it easy cause she didn’t see a reason to. maybe it’s because I related to her character a lot in that way (not director killer levels though haha) but I really liked how by the end she’s doing things like trying to find a hobby and just enjoying her time with the people most important to her. I can see the baby-fying of the ML for sure. I don’t think it stood out to me that much because I was just wondering the whole time why are these so forbidden 😂 but they did constantly remind us about the plushies and chocolate milk. and I think the way they had the passion for these structured to be more child-like than you’d expect for his age.
I did really like the show a lot, but I can see how this might not be a top-tier romcom especially for those who have watched tons. I’m still newer to kdramas and only recently started watching romance ones. they’ve ended up being surprisingly good. This one was way more my speed but for anyone looking for like high-level romance, I can agree it’s not it 😂
This drama was cute but reminded me a lot of older Kdramas from the 2010s (& not exactly in a good way) Very…
Wanted to share I read your post before I started the show and it definitely helped with knowing what I was getting into haha. now that I’ve finished I know I feel the same way about what you wrote in the second half. the first love thing was tooooo much but a good plot device I guess 😂
Unrealistic reconciliation strikes again! If I say what grandma deserves my comment might get reported. Honestly,…
lol this is very real. honestly though, I’m not surprised he immediately reacted. that’s what he wanted his whole life and just needed to hear it. I’m glad they didn’t show some sort of quick change in the relationship where they are buddy buddy cause that would’ve annoyed me. But I think with how far she went with how she treated him, she didn’t deserve any sort of grace. It was definitely way too much sometimes too. when she explained herself I was like huhhhhhh 😭
I loved this. Choi Hyun Wook is always great. This actually showed how great of an actor he is. He made me cry…
omg yes!!! I just made a similar comment haha.
he was so relatable and had so much personality too! It’s the opposite for me though about the butterflies lol. But I think that’s just cause I wasn’t the biggest fan of their development. but their chemistry was hella strong.
I was planning to look up her other stuff, so I will definitely be checking out that show. she was great in her role!
Funny enough I started watching this after I finished Weak Hero Class 1, and it was wild seeing ML in such a different role. Only seen him in these two but I feel like his versatility is of the charts!
The overall message is perfectly summarized within one sentence of the first episode of season two: "There's…
yeah so I know about the bullying and yeah the messaging was there but honestly I didn’t feel like it offered anything profound lol. which is why I posted this and responded to a couple of other comments. it just didn’t seem *about* any message in terms of content. So I was surprised seeing how much people took from it, so maybe it just went over my head lol. but it felt way more plot driven than character driven to me.
i know a bit (it’s also just everywhere globally), but after seeing the heights this one, I was taken aback because media can often reflect reality so it made think is there stuff like this happening for real? and the complicity is part of what felt over done to me 😭 I’m just like no reactions at all? from anyone? Lol. but someone else on here was sharing more about teachers and limited power they have for example so I get it.
but I see a lot of bullying kdramas, especially being recommended after this, and honestly this was the first one I started watching that I was actually finished. so overall it was really good.
appreciate you sharing your perspective!! I think it makes sense that if you’re seeing it through that lens while watching, there’s definitely significance to it. tbh I’m thinking I didn’t really connect with the characters that much which happens. so I think that’s affected my view of it. I was, however, very invested in the stories and ready to fight some of those guys myself 😭😂
yeah I just noticed the main reviews shown are bad ones which surprised me lol. I’m only 2 eps in so far but…
yes I’m enjoying it so far!! I probably would’ve finished by now if I had more time but it’s been a good watch after trying a few shows that weren’t that good recently
I’m curious about what you said about the depiction of teachers being realistic. cause that stood out for me…
thanks for sharing. I 100% get the class issues and perspective, there’s no question about that. I think the part that was hard to wrap my head around is what you explained in the latter half. Cause yeah I did notice it was like rich kids v poor kids basically. But I didn’t know how realistic it was for a teacher to just not do anything at all. It’s not like they gotta report it to the police or even the principal. They don’t even need to punish the bully (rich kid or not bullies usually get away with a lot anywhere in the world lol) but if a kid is bleeding out from getting smacked, that’s it? just leave them there? So I guess for me it was tough balancing like basic human decency with what was displayed lol. But I get what you mean by powerless authority now. I just wouldn’t have seen children’s health being apart of that lol. But if helping an injured child means the perpetrator’s parent is gonna try to get you fired then yeah maybe leave it alone altogether.
I was looking forward to it because of the actors Mun Ka young, Im Se Mi and Ban Hyo Jung. but the reviews are…
as someone who just started it, the middle schooler thing wasn’t that bad. just seemed like a very bad catfish situation. I’m only 2 eps in so I’m not sure if they go back to it in more depth, but there’s just been references to what happened given the time jump.
A drama can’t be deep or have meaning if you’re not actually paying attention. Weak Hero Class 1 was so much…
I’m curious about what you said about the depiction of teachers being realistic. cause that stood out for me and was frustrating. but I have no context for what schools in Korea are like and/or if bullying really reaches this level. so I don’t fully get what you meant by how the series is depicting powerless authority. cause the teachers just didn’t seem to give af honestly and I was like wow this is kinda wild when people’s heads are getting busted in the classroom 😂
I would’ve liked to know more of the main characters’ backstory too. I’m not sure how it could’ve been fit in but in the first few episodes I wanted to know more about what made them tick. the flashbacks we did get were helpful but Su-ho was such a mystery. I went from thinking he was homeless to him talking about living with his grandma…but still not getting why he slept at the school overnight!!!
all of this!!! I felt like the violence eventually became unrealistic, and it was wild that as things progressed there was just more and more. after awhile it was like ok this isn’t just bullying anymore. and so much of it was happening at random times of the day/night, I was wondering how these kids had such unlimited time available to them and then are back at school the next day lol.
by the end I wasn’t even sure what the point of all the fighting was anymore, but I can’t lie I love a good action scene.
His visuals are a mix of Park Seo Joon and Yoon Shi Yoon with both of their energies... however, his acting skills…
I got heavyyyyy Park Seo Joon vibes (idk if I know the other actor). like I was immediately interested in whatever he was doing on screen 😭😂 and turned out to be worth it because he was amazing in Weak class hero 1

I absolutely loved the secret interests part.
