I’m reading these comments and am very concerned— is the Di Ziyuan doppelgänger going to be really annoying and stupid? Does she take up a lot of scene time if she is? I’m only on ep 9 and absolute despise the annoying conniving second female lead trope, so some warning would be very helpful 🙏☠️
This is such a weird drama to watch, it feels almost like an inverted version of MRIAD. All of the previous short comings of MRIAD, this drama does really well (beautiful sets and costumes, well written and intriguing the plot and cases, strong and suitable tone, etc). But all of the stand-out qualities of MRIAD are somehow lost? The characters aren’t that engaging or distinctive, the chemistry between the leads is much weaker (even though they are literally the same actors 😭), etc. It’s so unfortunate because Istg if checkmate and MRIAD had a love child, it would literally be the perfect drama.
I like the direction they took the ml so far, I’m trying my best but I really can’t deal with the fl, I get that she’s supposed to be young and dumb but at some points she has no common sense and is actually a 8 year old child in a woman’s body. It creeps me out bc it feels like a romance between a fully grown man and a toddler 😭😭, praying she changes soon. I think I’m going to drop this soon
