i have a theory that might be wrong but is a very low chance to be true.

what if Yeom Ji Yeong ( Yoona's character ) is the King's mother reincarnation. That might be the reason the King reminds of his mother when he interact with her ( the FL). If this theory happens to be true maybe the book was written by his mother and now that got into the hands of the reincarnation of his mother she went back in the past to ne able to spend more time with him.
