the comments saying you gotta be from a young audience to enjoy this and once you "mature" you'll realize…
It's not about the age at all. You can be playful and cute with your significant other at any age. Imo it's even important... what is life if you don't enjoy it in your own way?

This is just my personal opinion, so please take it with a grain of salt.

Realism and convincibility. In my opinion many Bls lack in realism and convincibilty. Since nowadays every series seems to need at least one nc scene, this quickly turns into a test of a) how comfortable the actors really are with one another and b) if the writers can actually write a good scene.
Endless neck-sucking, fish kisses, theatrically rolling around on the bed and two men face to face dryhumping something that's anatomically just not there ... things like that quickly break the illusion for me.

DWY already showed how well it can portray a slowly growing, young romance, so it shouldn't have surpised me that the nc scene is also astonishingly well made. Still there are some things I want to mention here:

PTTPs chemistry is insanely good. Gets said a lot here, but it's worth repeating. Every touch, every kiss, every look has a purpose and... they take their time with it, which to me shows the actors are confident and comfortable with what they are trying to portray.

Duang, undressing Quin and then, instead of going to town immediately, just looking at him , taking it aaall in, says more than any words could. 'I fell for you and it took a looong time for you to like me back and now here we are'.

The pillow. It's a minor detail, but I think the pillow is important. I've used it many times. The pillow didn't have to be included, but the fact that it was just adds to the aforementioned realism of this lovely scene and the actors execute it perfectly.

Lastly I want to mention Duangs simple 'Can I?'. Simple 2 words spoken with a soft voice, but again his eyes say a thousand words. Everyone who has heen in that situation knows what is going on in your head at that time. 'I want you, I have been looking forward to this, I don't want to hurt you, please tell me if it is ok ....' Teetee shows it all so well with his look alone!

Many more examples come to mind, but I'm gonna stop here. For me, DWY convincingly shows the growth and developement of young love. I love this series! It's already in my Top 5 ever. Can't wait for next week.

If you've made it until here, thanks for reading. Byeee

Watching Duang feels like watching the version of boyhood a lot of us never got to see in real life. There’s…
I have been watching Bl and reading comments on mdl for 10+ years, but YOUR comment made me (finally) sign up here! 🥹

I have often wondered why this genre appeals so much to me, since I am neither from Asia, nor in the teenage girl target audience. As a gay man now in his thirties, I grew up in a world where no Duang would've ever been a main character in any movie or tv series. You had to act a certain way, not be needy, not be emotional, not be soft, not be different. Unfortunately many of these stereotypes and expectations still exist today.

For me watching bl is a way to make up for the youth I never had. This series has quickly become the thing I look most forward to every week. A glimpse into what could have been.

Thank you for your words and perfect description of what makes this show so great! Hoping more series will drop the old fashioned arrogant male lead routine and take inspo from our quirky lovable Duang ✨
