We don't know. Original work I guess (as far as I read on this forum) had a sad ending.
However, the show seem to have taken liberty to deviate a bit from the original work, hence we dont know for sure what kind of ending is to be expected for the drama version.
If you'd be interested to know as an individual viewer what I feel about the ending based on the show so far, then my inclination is more towards a bittersweet ending.

Same here. Memory loss thing is not so bothersome for me as for many other viewers to be honest. I did bagan to understand that for angst purpose they are hiding things from DFYC. Though its not the most clever way to bring in angst but I get it..
Howver, what AL said to DFYC specially when the other one is already troubled with whatever is happening and has called you to talk about it. If you can't disclose the truth just choose better words please.. that's all I am asking.. like I said in another post above those words matched DFLs character not AL.

I really hope so that there is some factory reset setting to this binding trap created using the Love Seed. Else not just DFYC was forgotten for nothing but THH also lost a huge aspect being a living being.. ability to feel being loved or loving someone.
However, I doubt we'd be shown anything like this. They will come up with some other kind fo sacrifice to deal with SJ next time..

I know.. earlier I just wanted to have a word with editing team. But just for what AL said to DFYC I have questions for writers too. I understand you wanted it to be hidden for sometime for drama purpose, trust I know about angst and I love it too. But can you use the reasons and dialogues that don't make it look like AL doesn't care a bit about DFYC. I mean just a change in approach would have been nice.

I am openly ready accept that you guys have some genuine reason for hiding the entire truth, I dont want to accept but I will for the story purpose.

As soon DFYC knew about DFLs truth from Lyu Jianwen, AL was the first person he reached out to because he has that trust in you. I rushed through some parts of latest episodes, he also went to AL with the book of 'Emptiness Magic'. That's how a friend acts.

Poor guy is going through everyone trying to convince him that she had forgotten 'only' him because she wanted to (its like telling him you were not worth remembering).. this coming from his friend 'Ao Lai' hits the roughest nerve.

As far Shi Kuan is concerned, he seem to have always cared for her deeply so much so that he wouldn't hesitate even once to sacrifice his life for her. Even if he knew he had developed any feelings for her, I am sure he never allowed himself to feel so because of their different social status. One being Princess and other her close guard.
DFYC is smart enough to read micro expression of Lyu Jianwen, when she greeted DFL. He knew, that she knew something wasn't right. Quickly asked DFL to leave. Even Lyu did not let her face show that she suspected DFL. Two smart people reading each other without words. Like it...
Liushang with captured bandits is cute. The guy is literally manhandling the 'Evil Spirit' just because they are chained. Be careful boy.. They are way too powerful, don't get so bold with them.
What did Yan Rushan do to paralyze him? Don't think I got it.. Did he use some kind of chain to stab his own heart? Coz Lyu certainly had her chain in her hand..
Chi Lei looks has much powerful fighting scenes than SJ.. It looks like he has the capability of causing some real damage while fighting Yan Rushan and Constable Lyu, unlike SJ..
Yan Rushan is returning the favor. She saved him with her umbrella. Now he is here to her rescue in his true form. Not just facing the wrath of Chi Lei, but also facing all his fears he must have harbored for so long to show his true form to anyone willingly.
I know they are supposed to be the evil spirits, but I kind of liked Chi Lei and Chi Shan's relationship. Being brothers they did care for each other. Shows though they all must have committed worst crimes (may continues to do so if survived) but they do feel similar emotions like any other human or spirit. I liked their scenes
