I guess it's up to interpretation. two people confessing their love and wanting to spend their lives together is not necessarily romantic but for these specific characters, I think Ryu had romantic feelings, and Johan was trying to survive, but I see his comic book story and his video message as a confession. In my understanding, if they could have more time they'd be open to showing affection as a couple... or they're not gay, but bi or aromantic, or straight, idk. Still, I think its cool how the writers make you question "if this is not real love than what is?" and how this kind of connection surpasses labels. Lastly, we haven't had a plot where someone really started dating someone else. I think if Johan or Ryu actually saw the other with someone else, they'd figure out their feelings more and would want to put on some sort of label, but it wasn't the focus of the show
I thought it's going to be a happy story, then the last 3 episode happens. I cried so bad and still sobbing.
True, and you don't know which scene is gonna get you. I usually don't tear up, but randomly realised that i'm crying when Ryu's mom was offering Sumiko to live with them and that she was always welcome even if she's not their child
everyone who is dropping this or not watching just because they find out “it’s not bl” is missing out on…
And both OST main songs were made with STUTS, so dreamy and sad and beautiful 🫶 I also prefer these kinds of real tragically romantic dramas Yes, we all want to disconnect into a world where queer people find happiness and love every time, so it's light and comforting, and nothing too unsolvable is in the way...because it helps to distract yourself from whatever it is we don't want to think about. But I adore and admire it when stories like this one are brought to life and without warning make it real for you, make you feel that much more uplifted and proud when the charachters find strength to live on. Also, when I write down the quotes from movies and books, that means I REALLY liked it :) "Whatever we do, wherever we go, may we never be alone."
