if you are interested in admiral Yi sun sin and his war, i'd like to recommend this youtube videos. The maker…
I'd add to the list:
Samuel Hawley, The Imjin War : Japan's sixteenth-century invasion of Korea and attempt to conquer China, 2005;
Kenneth Swope, A Dragon's Head and a Serpent's Tail Ming China and the First Great East Asian War, 1592-1598, 2009

Fortunately the list of English secondary sources keeps growing. Mathew, have you ever published your research?

Subtitle Cat at https://www.subtitlecat.com/index.php?search=Three.Kingdom.Wars.Imjin.War.1592, has subtitles in Afrikaans, Albanian, Amharic, Czech, English, French, Indonesian, Spanish, for Episodes 1 to 5, which are machine translated from Farsi (Persion). I haven't watched it yet but since I wanted to see the series I thought I should give it a try.

SubDL has a zip of the Farsi (Persian); the Korean zip on the site is misidentified and is actually Korean subtiles for The Last Samurai 2003

The South Korean Police seem to have gone to extrodinary lengths to trap Yoo Ah In and indulged in some personally invasive procedures to prove drug use, which should have been treated as a medical and not a criminal issue. It would be a great tragedy if this incredibly talented actor's career is ended because of having to face these charges, which I can't help but think are the result of him being specifically targeted. But then there is a history, in South Korea, of prominant creatives being singled out for "special attention".

My hope is that Yoo Ah In is able to emerge stronger from this whole debacle and is able to be where he belongs: on the big and small screen.
