Career vs Love
I did really enjoy this story, and loved all the actors in it.
I was sad the hear that the actor who plays Mo Fei's brother no longer acts, because I loved him in this.
I have watched this a few times now and still enjoy it.. While still being annoyed at certain bits.
I think the drama dragged on for longer than necessary and some parts of the story, like the harrassment by the gang in France were so unbelieveable it spoilt the story.
As far as Fang Xiao Yu goes.. Yes he was overly intense, and crossed boundaries but at the same time I could feel his desperation as he found someone who he could be himself with, be creative with, and whose company he enjoyed. Yet, he could also see his 'rival' someone who he believed had driven his sister to disappear for years, getting closer and closer to the girl he wanted for himself.
I did think at times they did him dirty. When he saved them from the attack in France and got himself badly beaten, so much that even writing was difficult. Neither Mo fei nor her boyfriend offered or cared to help. I mean, what did they think he was going to do all day???
Stuck in his apartment on his own, no family close by and only them. I know they hired a carer but come on. A carer isnt company, when you can't do anything.
I also think the mistreatment of Bai Xiaoman was glossed over. Much as I hated her whining, she was falsely accused of sabotaging her designer multiple times, and I think kicked out of college..
When by the end we find out none of that was her afterall, it was actually Mo Fei's friend, who was jealous.
Yes she slapped Mo Fei.. But I guess after being accused multiple times of things she hadn't done, resulting in loosing a job she had fought hard for and relied upon, I kinda dont blame her.
I don't think she was ever given a substantial apology for the false accusations made against her.
I wasnt keen on Mo Fei's brother girlfriend if I'm honest. I know she was supportive of Mo Fei and her brother but she also crossed boundaries and was never corrected.
She was rude, spoilt, whiny, very childish and little bit controlling. If not for the fact Mo Fei's brother was very passive and accomodating a different guy would have given up with her. I don't believe she waw actually mature enough for a relationship.. And think he could've had someone a million times better.
