Title Takumi-kun Series: Drama Spoiler
I liked it despite its abundant flaws. This is an OG BL story. Trauma for everyone. All the characters are compelling in their own way. But with 6 episodes it's impossible to tell all of their stories in any depth. And that's where this series really dropped the ball. If we had 6 more episodes and got to spend more time with each character/couple that would also allow each of the stories to develop more naturally and over time, so their individual growth would be deserved. Plus, might not be so confusing! Episode 6 felt like it was directed by a different team entirely. Takumi's emotionless - almost lifeless - confession, the trip to the grave, all the other couples tied everything up so neatly, so quickly. It was somehow satisfying and not at all satisfying at the same time. Such great potential wasted. Side note: If you counted up all the lines of dialogue, I think 1/3 of them would be Takumi saying, simply, "Gii..."

On The Journey to Killing You Oct 25, 2025
Overall, I really enjoyed it. Like a good yakuza story, filled with rivalry and secret plots. The "killer falls for his prey" trope did not foretell of the darker, more complex character back stories. Poor Odajima really went through hell... a few times. No wonder he looked so lifeless. Kataoka was a great character, just the right amount of arrogance, but always took responsibility. The intimate scenes were very well done, with great taste and restraint, that truly showed the changes in the couple's relationship. Loved the evolution of their relationship overall, even up to the last lines.

Minor nitpick: Kirii Keito basically ends the rivalry with Kataoka when they tell him "he's not your half-brother, he's your adopted brother. No blood relation." You mean to tell me in 20 years, no one has ever told him that before? Seems odd. But, as I say, minor.

I don't think they handled Takumi's "giving in" to Gii very well. After all his trauma, he just submits? He was just panting like a lunatic at the start of the episode and now he's getting roughed up by Gii and smiling about it? They're making some odd choices in this adaptation.

Episode 3: First, those domestic bliss scenes were just so sweet. The writing/editing was so good, going back and forth to each of their stories, and then BAM! Plot twist! And it's not an ex-lover come back to start trouble.

This is only episode 3! We've got so much more to come. I can't wait!

A decent short with some sweet and tender emotions. My big problem is that Chul-Soo rehearses the same scene 3 times, supposedly he gets better each time, but I did not see any difference in the 3 performances. Still, the heartache and yearning are well done.

Err'body gets slapped!
Dang, this school has more trauma than the ER.
The hyperventilating and hand trembling are at pandemic levels.
But all that aside, that last moment of Ep 4 where Takumi relaxes in Gii's arms made me swoon too.
6 eps will not be enough for all these boys to figure their sh*t out, but I'm looking forward to it.

woa idk but i think this is one of the best adaptation out there. with a few changes (obv to make it less smut),…
Wait... the manga is "weird"? I'm all in! Where can I find an English version?

This was wel done. Captured all the emotions very well, in such a short time span. Basically got an entire series worth of story in just 28 minutes. Not something I need to see again, but worth your time and attention. Sweet.

How do you know the director doesn't trust the audience? You put in 4 flashbacks in one episode.... of moments that happened in the same episode. Story-telling at its worst.

I've been thinking about this lately. Love in the Moonlight also has this soap opera/larkon format, and it's slow…
Sometimes they work for me, but this one just didn't grab me. Hope you enjoy it, though!

Really intriguing premise. Direction and music were off-putting to the point of distraction. I'll rewatch 49 days with a Merman instead.

Not really my cup of tea. More soap opera than BL. Daou is very strong and natural. Offroad is trying very hard to be sexy (he succeeds most of the time). I might try one or two more eps, but I don't think this one is for me.

Finally got to see the last episode. Was not expecting that impromptu wedding, which was just so sweet. I like these slice-of-life BLs where not much happens and there isn't a ton of crazy drama. Both actors had tons of charisma and I fell for them both. Yes, there were story flaws and elements which needed to be expanded, but all in all it was a sweet, fluffy ride that I enjoyed and will probably come back to watch again.

On My Bias Is Showing?! Sep 26, 2025
A decent series. They introduced a lot of elements that they then later just sort of fluffed over. The "revenge" plot never really felt fully formed. The resolution was all too quick and easy. Not bad, but it felt like they could have dug deeper on the characters and fleshed out the consequences better. But enjoyable piece of fluff.

I always have trouble getting into stories about introverts. I know introverts exist, but I've never met one in my very long life. And since he barely says anything, the only reason to like him is because he's cute. That doesn't make for a very compelling character or story. The episodes were repetitive and offered nothing new or interesting. Good kisses, but other than that... not worth your time.

This series was a mixed bag for me. I liked a lot. I didn't like a lot. Like an adult/workplace love story. But then they infantilize the lead and make him act more like a pre-pubescent boy than a grown man and corporate manager. Even the list... you haven't had department store cake before? Is that really as big as you can dream? Keishi was a great, straightforward character, who made his intentions known almost immediately, so Suzume's prolonged confusion seemed ridiculous. He's into you. Period. But there was a nice, natural element to the relationship. I liked how they slowly got closer. Mostly, I lked Shoji Kohei's performance. When the story made me roll my eyes, his performance kept me transfixed. And then the finale redeemed a lot. The confession scene was very well done. I could probably watch that episode without having to watch the rest of the show, and still be satisfied. I prefer Old Fashioned Cupcake.

I’m not lying—the final episode managed to completely turn around the tension from the previous episodes!…
Agree 100%. Last few episodes seemed to falter, but this was the perfect ending. That confession scene alone was pure gold. I totally expected Keishi to present a list, as well. I thought, "Before I turn 30" (he is still 20's, isn't he?).

This was middle of the road for me. No great shakes, but nothing bad either. I fell in love with JunXi immediately. Wang Jyun Hao is so cute and innocent. Likewise, Lin Yen Tzu is about the cutest thing I've ever seen. The best friend we all want. But most of it felt forced. Lots of over the top jealousy that got repetitive. But I did like how affectionate the boys became. And of course JunXi's parents were awesome. All in all a decent effort.

I really enjoyed this because the performances felt so real. Felt like I was eavesdropping on a real conversation. These two actors were so comfortable with each other. Nothing happens and there's not even a lot of dialogue, but there's a great sense of hope for these two. Well done.
