My thought was they should be grateful that actors like Cheng Yi and Xu Kai were willing to work with her. And which veteran actor will want to pair up with a bad actress?

I have the same opinion of yours, there are so many actresses to choose from and Yu Zheng chose her even after the failure of “Snow Eagle Lord”, and he actually is working hard for people to accept her. I don’t think it’s merely because of “beauty”, a man like him wouldn’t risk a drama only because of the actress's looks. Obviously there’s more behind that selection, but nevermind we better not mention further and just support Hou Minghao 😃 But I have to say that I’m glad to see that someone else share the same opinion as me, I tried not to say much because I don’t want others to think that I am a hater, which is far from reality 😅

Those 2 actors are Hou Minghao for FoF, and Liu Xue Yi for "Kill Me, Love Me". KMLM script is terrible, it's like 4 mini dramas in 1. But the leads acting was good, especially Liu Xue Yi, he has received a lot of praises and recognition for that role and a director especially cast him for another drama after watching him in KMLM. That’s why I say no matter if a drama has bad script, directing, or editing, if the actors do a good job they will get recognition from the viewers and critics.
However, I have to say that the the only character I forever remember is ZYZ.

"A victim of bad script" is just an excuse some use to defend her when others criticize her acting. In 2024, only 2 actors were able to impress me with their acting skills and in my opinion both dramas had bad scripts (I respect the opinion of those who found the scripts were good). One of them is Hou Minghao as YZY/ Zhu Yan. Beside the bad script and editing and all GJM tricks, Hou Minghao acting is outstanding, proof of it is that until this day Hou Minghao is still in the top 10 ranking and people are still talking about Zhao Yuan Zhou and praising Hou Minghao, and many of us can’t forget that character.
And in the past there were dramas which were bad but one of the actors have been praised and which helped them to start getting better scripts.
What I’m trying to say is that bad script and bad acting are 2 different things.

But, I am hoping to see improvement from her in YMCG because Yu Zheng is putting in a lot of effort to convince everyone (including MangoTV) that she will be good in this drama, So I am sure he will keep a close eye on her work and constantly checking her scenes to make sure they are good (after all the yapping he wouldn’t want to lose face because of her). I hope she understands the huge opportunity Yu Zheng is giving her and it’s never too late to improve. She might surprise us, lol

This is the first time I am reading something so crazy as the billing position should be because of "seniority" or "beauty" (this drama is not a beauty contest) and not because of talent/acting skills or the ability to attract investors and viewers. I agree with @SM_99, if anyone have a problem with the billing position they should go and complain to Yu Zheng instead of hating on Hou Minghao.
About the "beauty", that word is not precisely what came to my mind when I saw her pic on YMCG page and when I watched her and Cheng Xiao pic side by side, "siblings" wasn't precisely the term that came to my mind.

I had decided not to share much my opinion towards the FL, because I tend to be too honest and straightforward with my opinions and I don't want to cause any trouble, lol.

Anyway, all I care about is that Yu Zheng give Hou Minghao a fair treatment, the crew give him enough time to rest and that he is able to eat properly, is all that matters to me right now 😆

Since yesterday I have been thinking if he has been doing the dubbing for Ji Bo Zai. I know that many says that he look sick or tired but for me he looks emotionally down, sad. And the dubbing can be the reason because he would have to cry for many scenes for LITC.
