Not sure about that . I believe they do it extra, because the most viewers of cdramas are very young, so that they can better identify with them . The weird thing is most of these young looking actresses are between 25 ~30 years old and look under 18, that’s why I believe there is a purpose behind it, because on Iqiyi 80% of actresses have baby faces.( cute but not very romantic for me)
