No series makes me look forward to a new episode more than this one. The slow burn between IG and Ruk grows warmer in the smallest moments. You truly get a sense that they're waking up to what they feel for one another, but nothing is heavy-handed.
There is a bit of horrendous censorship that completely ruins Ep 12. You can find the two critical scenes here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJMxMc5zlE0https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEzuMY8NnDwThe…
I hadn't seen the subtitled version of that first clip. That's one of the most beautifully written confessions I've seen.
Chon is too adorable in that second clip, pouting at the sink. :)
The fake girfriend thing is excruciating - I have to skip it. Who thought that was a good idea? That plus another…
I think a lot of viewers consume the tropes like comfort food. The tropes are familiar and it's always clear how everything will turn out, so if feels safe to keep watching.
The best series will find a creative way to take things to resolution. I think this one is trying but like you say, it occasionally gets bogged down. Like, really bogged down.
For me FUTS has gone from must-see on the day of release to being something to watch when I'm bored.
It was just okay. The biggest problem is that 'Luke' is not a very good actor. I don't think he delivered a single line of dialog convincingly. ('Dominic' is fantastic, though, and he has a beautiful singing voice.)
The second biggest problem is that the ending feels very forced. The movie's third act sets up a bunch of problems that it does nothing to resolve. Nothing! (Like, what about that date for prom? You know the one I mean -- the one that Luke said yes to.)
By the time we get to the final scene we know that Luke is unreliable. He runs hot and cold and has no idea what he really wants. Maybe he loves Dominic, but on the other hand maybe he's just driven by guilt. So, the sentimental ending is utterly unconvincing. It needed something that would assure us that Luke really, truly knows what he wants now. As it is, I wouldn't be surprised if the next day he's back with the girlfriend. (Something tells me that will be the premise of the sequel. *Yawn* )
The 8.4 rating is mind-boggling. Talk about grading on a curve. It's a 7 at best.
This is a cute series. I think the pace of IG and Ruk's growing relationship is just right, and they look so good together -- both with clothing and without.
It's funny to see the mom from 'Brothers' as IG's mom.
Lots of shirtless eye candy in Episode 3, too. This director knows what's up! :)
I had a friend like Kaeng except when one of his f-buddies would start to date someone, the way he'd interfere was by trying to seduce the guy the f-buddy was interested in. Watching today's episode I was relieved that at least Kaeng didn't try that.
It's like they started with a BL Production Kit and BL Script-o-matic with the Cringe setting on "High", but it's a fun way to end the week and I can't hate it.
Both Mork and Bbomb from Nitiman are going from cute guys in love to crazy/psycho stalkers. They both acted wrong…
OMG yes! Is there any main character in this series who's still worth rooting for? They're all so unpleasant.
I'm going to finish the series out of sheer curiosity, but it's gotten to where I forget that it's even running until YouTube serves me the latest episode.
Agreed! That is a garbage reason and cop out. It reminds me of the people who will watch BL dramas but don’t…
It's the antique notion that same-sex relationships are only about sex, not love. So, I'm guessing you're right. They don't want to corrupt the children.
I'm a little bit confused as to why people are bring up BL/"Yaoi" topics to write about~ It might be just me...…
It's interesting that you seem to think of discussion of a BL series as a sexual topic. Sex might happen in a BL series, but BL is not 'about' sex any more than a series like 'What's Wrong With Secretary Kim' is.
Also, 'The Untamed' is a bromance, not a BL, and many of the objections here are in regard to the hypocrisy of this article breezily saying that you can write about anything, whereas the actual guidelines it links to clearly state that BL topics are not allowed because of the underage people using the site.
It's such a homophobic 1950's mindset that you'd think they'd hesitate to put it in writing, but in my experience the people in charge on here do tend to live in their own world, not caring about when they are inconsistent and often shrugging off members' concerns.
A fun thought experiment would be to imagine the reaction if m/f relationships like the one in 'Secretary Kim' couldn't be written about for fear of corrupting underage members. Given the nature of so much of Asian drama, such a rule would be pretty stupid, right? This place would be a ghost town with only the forum games like 'Count to 10,000'.
The first episode is an amazing introduction to the main characters and the story. So light-hearted and bright to begin with, then suddenly all those surprises to add shades of darkness and mystery.
Whoever submitted the recommendation for 'Go Ahead' was spot on. This already feels like a junior version of that series, which for me was epic -- one of the best I've ever seen.

That said, this is a superb list and includes some dramas where at least the main leads were not dubbed.
I wish the Cdrama pages on here would include info on which characters are dubbed and which are filmed "live" with the actors' actual voices.
