Revisited some favorite scenes and it holds up beautifully. I don't know if I could handle the angst of watching it again from start to finish, though. πππ
Somehow I think something is wrong with me when I just can't get the hype about ZeeNunew. I don't know if it's…
To me, ZeeNunew seem so plastic. I'm sure it's partly due to the way their studio relentlessly skin-smooths all of their actors when they're in a series, but there's more to it. The rest is maybe just a gut feeling.
I think this reaffirms my position that this is the worst adaptation I have ever seen. First of all, Guy and Liu's…
Preach! Getting through this series has turned out to be a chore. It makes me wonder if Win has the chops to be a male lead.
To your list I'll add that Saint puts me off. The character is so smug and annoying, and when he started as a sneaky a-hole, lying to Guy about a room not being available, he lost all respect from me. (So what if he thought better of it later. He was no longer trustworthy.) The Kdrama's Woo Young had unimpeachable virtues and because of that was a much better rival for Kyung Seok.
The story here is so stripped down and homogenized. It boggles my mind that anyone who's watched the Kdrama would think this cartoon is a better adaptation.
I wonder if they put the kiss in the trailer to reassure us after that awkwardly kissless ending to "A Shoulder To Cry On"-- but, putting that aside, this looks promising.
The character in the kdrama who's the counterpart of Saint was squeaky-clean, and even ended up inviting the ML to live with him. Saint, on the other hand, is a bit of a conniver.
It's funny how Saint is enough of a jerk that I don't think there will be anyone wishing he beat out the ML in winning the FL's heart, as there was with the kdrama.
I hope before the end there's at least two or three episodes where Liu has figured out who Faye really is and reads her to filth. I can't take much more of Liu's "woe is me", passive personality.
I also hope there's no tragic, secret story behind Faye's evil persona. The worst thing about the kdrama version was Sooah's redemption.
I wonder if they filmed a scene in the dressing room where Liu got locked in there with Guy. This was a key turning point in the kdrama version, and when they made a point of saying the door was broken it got my hopes up.
This version is like the PG version of the kdrama. Everything is softer around the edges. If you like this and haven't seen the kdrama, you should check it out. It really runs you through the wringer.
Once again, a series that is going great opts for an ending that makes no sense. I'm sure somebody thought that…
We're supposed to believe that two people shared the same hallucination for TWO YEARS? (Or if you include Tee, that would be THREE people sharing it.)
Okay, fine, maybe the drug makes them *think* two years have passed whereas they've been checked out for only a couple of days. But even if that is the case, who's the one "blowing smoke" to keep them from waking up?
Finally, killing off the one character who was not only 100% innocent but was the sweetest of them all ... just stupid.

I'm going to watch the first couple of episodes of this one, mainly to see if it will be more of the same. If not then I'll give it a chance.

Maybe Est (Note) should have been cast as Guy. Now, that's a man who's hard to take your eyes off.

I still think they did a great job otherwise.
