I know the series has many flaws but the chemistry between Yin and War is superb, you can't tell they're acting.
They have set a new standard for me. War was always very good, but Yin's improvement has been lightyears beyond where he was in the first series. I don't know if it's due to the director, an acting coach on the production staff, or training that Yin got separately. I'd like to hear from him how he did it.
Maybe they should remake "The Best Story" next. π
Ep8 was a massive let down for me personally. In the abridged version, Vee suffers and feels the loss of Mark…
I will definitely go back to the first series to see that conversation at the bar. I should probably rewatch that series entirely now that the new version is nearly finished.
I agree that they should have let Mark have the upper hand for the entire episode. It is so satisfying to watch a Mark who is calling the shots.
But I also think Vee's regret and pain were well conveyed in Episode 8, although the photo shoot with Ploy felt completely bogus -- Vee looked too comfortable and smiled too much. But that scene at Mark's door when Vee discovers him with his ex and thinks they've slept together -- wow. Absolutely devastating. Yin deserves an acting award for that alone.
As you know, only the first three episodes were released in a Director's Cut version. Beginning with Episode 4 they stopped editing anything out, so since then it's all been "Director's Cut" without the need for a special label.
Also, on WeTV you don't go to a separate page to view those extended episodes, so even WeTV is not treating the Director's Cut as a separate entity.
This approach would be like treating the BTS clips from a show's WeTV page as a separate series too.
If MDL is going to insist on this silliness then you actually *should* create a page for WeTV's "Fast Track" release of Episode 9, which actually *does* require a special way to access it -- you can view it only on the WeTV app, and only by paying for it separately.
I think this page is unnecessary. Only the first three episodes had a "director's cut" version, and after that they stopped editing anything out and all of the episodes are essentially a director's cut.
OK, I get there's stuff in the original material and you can't just change all of it, but this episode rehashed…
Yeah, seeing Mark getting drunk kinda pissed me off because of the way it regressed the character.
I also don't think that Vee would have really been so willing to get smiley and touchy with Ploy at that photoshoot knowing that Mark was watching. Ploy was the atomic bomb that destroyed Mark and Vee's relationship with that one-sided kiss. After that, Vee should have been wary of her in any circumstance where they would be seen together. Including at that bar.
I feel like GMMTV didnβt do themself a favor in casting OhmNanon. The chemistry is to good to just be the -…
In this series Ohm and Nanon have had few scenes together, and even then we got only glimpses of the characters' faces as played by Ohm and Nanon, almost as though it was mainly intended to educate the audience as to who was who before they started to focus mainly on Sea and Jimmy. So there was little opportunity to show their chemistry, such as it is.
Honestly, I think Ohm and Nanon are over-hyped as a pairing, and Nanon as an actor in general. So that's undoubtedly coloring my opinion, just as your enlistment in the Ohm-Nanon Army is coloring yours. But I didn't miss them in Episode 3 and I'm perfectly fine with how Sea and Jimmy are playing their roles.
With Episode Three, I'm starting to feel invested in the story.
I do think that Puen started to fall for Talay right after they met. He puts them in so many situations where he seems to want to force Talay's hand, the bathtub scene being the ultimate example. How could anybody not realize that a guy who insists on taking a bath with you wants to be more than friends?
I hope the series spends only half of its time in the alternate universe then brings us back to the original one to show us how the guys search for one another. As I watch I'm trying to guess what phrase or behavior will turn out to be the thing that gives them a breakthrough. Will it be one of the phrases written on the back of the bike helmets? Or the tag line that Puen came up with for the movie script? Or the bit about what it means to prefer a chicken leg to a chicken wing? Or something yet to come, or some combination of things?
I think one of them will overhear the other referring to something specific that could only have come from the alternate universe and have a revelation. I hope it will be that megastar Puen has a chance encounter with Talay, at which point Talay unknowingly triggers recognition in Puen, because there are so many romantic ways that could play out, like Puen saying something from the performance stage to get Talay's attention and reuniting with him that way.
I think the chemistry between the guys is great. I look forward to the HEA.
(I guess I'm expecting a very romantic ending. The potential is certainly there.)
Episode 9 .... ** REALLY, there are Spoilers below **
WeTV made me pay separately for Parts 1 and 2, to the tune of 99 cents each.
The first half is pretty much a waste of time, like an episode of a 90's sitcom where the dimwitted leading man makes a stupid bet and ends up losing, but comes out a winner anyway. It's like they let some unemployed screenwriters from the US come in and mess with a good thing while the official writers took the day off. Out of nowhere they introduce a ridiculous boxer character who, if he was really a Thai national champ, would mean that boxers in Thailand couldn't beat your little sister in a fight.
And I really don't get why Mark would let this obnoxious boxer guy and Vee make a bet involving Mark without stepping in to tell them both to buzz off.
The whole first half is really dumb.
Part 2 of Episode 9 makes up for it. Mark forgives Vee, and we get a nice dose of fluff. Even Vee's dad redeems himself in a really nice way. (They don't explain his turnaround, though.) It all ends with a cliffhanger that you'll see coming from a mile away, and which I'm pretty sure will be happily resolved within the first couple of minutes of Episode 10.
It does seem like Episode 10 is being set up as the finale. Mark wants Vee to meet his parents, which I'm sure will end up going well, and since the issues with Vee's dad are resolved in Episode 9, it would be pretty cheesy for them to feed us another round of misunderstandings and breakups to fill two more episodes.
Can someone please spoil; at the end of 8 or in 9, was there even a small hope of reconciliation?
They reconcile at the end of Part 1 of Episode 9. The second half of the episode is very sweet and ends on a predictable cliffhanger that I'm almost positive will also resolve in a positive way.
Have fun, everybody!

Good ol' MDL. Never admit a mistake. πππ

A "spoiler" has to reveal something factual about the show/book/movie based on having already seen or read it.
Anyway, your theory is interesting!
