As much as I like Park Minyoung, I don't think I can get through this. The webtoon is super cheesy as is, but in spite of that, the drama takes every situation up a few notches and makes it too much.
It's only episode 1 and it's already this different and not in a good way? I can only conclude this is now a genre that isn't for me. I hope the people this show is made for finds it!
With that said, may the webtoon adaptations keep going, they're a breath of fresh air. Even if some of those are too fresh for me, heh.
I decided to give this a shot, mostly because of Victoria, despite already feeling very reluctant when i first saw that intro. Holy gods (lol). I dragged myself through the first 3 episodes (Which seemed painfully slow and awkward), only to find that despite the painfully cheesy elements and CGI *Coughs*, it was kind of addictive. I'm mostly hanging in there because i want justice for Lan Shang, truth about Ying Kong Shi's roots and more Yan Da.
The costumes and wigs for the children at the start made me wonder if I could stand watching it, but the majority, especially the leads and their friends, look amazing. The make up, the hair, the colour schemes... It's all really lovely and I am pleasantly surprised, even though Ka Suo bore me more and more for each episode. He's a good guy, but hardly story material (At least not for 62 episode, halp). Someone give him his happy ending so I can stare at Yan Da and Shi.
Compare that scene to how it is in the comic and you'll see what I mean by turned up a notch. It's all overdramatized. Hope that clarifies it :)
