First time writing such an honest review in my life just for the best xianxia drama ever for me.

First of all, this is my first time ever in my writing a review for tv series. English is not my first language so I will try my best to get it to the point.

First for the story part, many people saying FL unnecessarily keeps a secret to ML and people complaining why she didn’t just ask him to give her the antidote. I just wanna say you guys don’t understand Mingyi’s character completely. She was raised in an environment where she was forced to be a useful person to someone and getting no care or love from her parents or family or anyone. So when it comes to the time, when she need to tell ML to give her the antidote, she was confused if it was the real love. And even if ML really love her, it’s really hard to tell him straight to give her an antidote. It’s also explained by FL in the series too, ML’s master made him take an oath not to let the antidote appear in the world nor to give anyone. Mingyi didn’t want him to break that just because she’s his beloved person. That’s what the character Mingyi is. (Also this might be unnecessary but Mingyi said that Mingxian has pride that he don’t want his fated enemy to see the weak point at all.) Mingyi is willing to give her life just for ML to not feel uncomfortable choosing between his master and her. But even then, if she really need the antidote, if she really have to stay alive, the bad person must be herself, not the ML who have to break an oath to protect the antidote like his master claimed. (I really really really like this character setting. It just make FL seems more internally strong.)
Also, there was a part when ML told FL about his master and an oath, and also told her that she’s not like any other people who are only here just for the antidote. And then Mingyi said what if she’s same with other people, and ML answered he believed in her. You say, how should Mingyi react to his words? Cuz he said right through her. (Idk if i was in Mingyi’s shoes, I dont think I can tell him the truth either cuz it just feel so helpless when someone you really love or care about believe in you that much and you have to betrayed his love and belief just to make sure you can stay alive) It’s just that much helpless/hopeless for Mingyi to choose between him and her life. (Poor Mingyi T_T) Even when she saw ML destroyed the antidote in front of her, and her master complaining about she said that “ that’s his belonging after all, there is no way they can complain about just because he doesn’t want to give her. (Such a positive-minded and broad-minded girl I’m not crying ahhhh 😭😭😭)

I also see the same few people talk bad about FL and pity ML when ML chose to keep quiet about his injury and wanted to break up with FL. This is the same situation as early part Mingyi but the difference is now that they understand each other and all misunderstandings were clear also the most important thing is that FL didn’t have any oath or anything to obey, unlike ML’s situation.
Of course, I don’t want to see both of them getting hurt and pity both of them but I mean, this is the unnecessary thing most people talking about FL. And just for you to know, when FL is being poisoned, the leaf petal on her hands are being used mostly to save other or even ML, NOT ONE OF THE PETALS ARE USED FOR HERSELF. This is where FL needs to be recognized by some people saying she’s not a good FL.
(I just write down what appears in my brain, there’s might be some details that you or me left unnoticed about Mingyi’s character. I will try to find few more and add them later tho)

Also, I started watching this series only because I’ve seen Lu Yu Xiao’s Shangguan qian acting. At the first few episodes, yes, the pace is slow and few screens make me cringe little bit but I kept watching it despite seeing many people complaining and dropping the series. (And i made the right choice for sure, it didn’t disappoint me at all, I enjoyed the whole series and I even bought two svip account on youku app just to support the series and casts)
Now comes the part where I wanna talk about. Many people say that FL’s acting and voice lines are bad. But that’s not the case for me. I really like her acting and especially her original voice lines. For acting, there’re so many little expressions which normal people can barely handle. Cute scene looks so natural to me and I don’t feel any cringe feeling about it.

And then for the original voice lines. Idk why many people say it’s so uncomfortable or unpleasant or unprofessional. For me, her voices are so realistic, like when she cries, there’s like heavy breathing and few shuttering voices in it. It feels like she’s actually feeling sad and cry out of her chest. Who can hear words clearly when you cry out loud? I don’t understand people saying can’t hear her words clearly. There are so many feelings delivered out of her voices. I REALLY REALLY LIKE THAT!!!
Anyway, I really enjoyed this drama and it easily topped my xianxia drama list.
Hope everyone who read till now also enjoy the show too. Thanks for reading such a long review!

ABSOLUTELY WORTH WATCHING DRAMA!!! I LOVE LU WUYI I LOVE JU JINGYI SO MUCH!!!

First of all, I rarely write a review. So this is my sincere opinion of this series. I watched this drama because of Ju Jingyi.
At first, I didn’t have high expectations, because I’d seen many of her previous dramas and didn’t really like her acting that much. But the set photos and previews all said her acting was great this time, and the director even said, “You’ll see a Ju Jingyi you’ve never seen before,” so I decided to give it a try.

However, I fell in love with the character Lu Wuyi starting from the very first episode.
What shocked me the most were Episodes 23 and 24.
Oh my god! Her acting was absolutely explosive.
The immersion was so strong too—the sense of fragility was off the charts. I felt like I was hurting and exhausted right along with her.

And her eyes! They were so expressive!
This is what people mean by “the light in the eyes is gone.”
Seriously, at the very beginning, she went in with hope—her eyes were bright and full of hope.
But as she grew weaker and faced failure after failure, her gaze shifted from determination to the despair of someone who has lost the will to live.

Every time she traveled back in time, it caused tremendous harm to her body. She became physically numb,
yet you could still see her resolve and obsession in her eyes.
Her acting was seriously so good.

To save her beloved sister, Ji Ling, and everyone else,
she endured so much pain. If it were me, I would have given up long ago.
But Lu Wuyi, this brave and pitiful little fox, never gave up. How noble she was 😭

Her eyes held unwillingness, heartache, courage, resolve, despair, and defiance against fate—
but never self-pity.

She never saw herself as a victim. She didn’t wallow in misery just because she failed again and again.
Instead, she grew stronger through struggle.
Her bravery was the kind that kept fighting upward.
Beyond her sincere love for the person she cared about,
as a puppet, she also showed disdain for this world.
She had this fierce spirit of “I will rise” and “I refuse to accept my fate.”

Her birth and her feelings were all created for her.
Even when she was doubted—by her sister, by her loved one—she never felt sorry for herself.

Given her life from the moment she was born, she should have been deeply insecure.
But when doubted, she didn’t use weakness to seek comfort,
nor did she use her suffering to show off or gain sympathy.
Instead, she understood the reasons why people doubted her, and swallowed her own sadness alone.

She is the only character in the show with no original cause,
yet she bore all the consequences!
I honestly cried so hard.
I don’t even have the words to describe how sorry I feel for her, or how shocked I am by her acting.

I truly recommend everyone to watch this drama.
Every actor performed amazingly.
Personally, I think it’s one of the best dramas in recent years!
