I think it's because wheat in Chinese is 麦 which is the homophone of 卖(meaning 'to sell'). When they wish a movie or show sells well, they usually gift a bouquet of wheat lol

LOL yeah. Stupid is as stupid does, there are people like that but I get your point. I wonder who's the scriptwriter for this. I'm already blaming the director for making this the weakest drama in the series. It's not bad but as compared to the rest in the whole CitT series, it is the weakest one.

No idea why but this director’s work is Meteor Garden. They got an idol romance director to direct a tomb-raiding drama and this is the result 😩😩😩

I like that this series’ characters are more consistent and they’re all badass. Even Pangzi can fight well when it mattered and they have a deep knowledge of fengshui and archaeology which is convincing for a tomb raider.

It’s not bad but it really is the weakest among the other CitT series. I blame the director.

Hehe I found out coz I watched Candle in the Tomb series first then when I watched DMBJ I wondered why it’s so similar. I dug a bit on Chinese sites and found out.

I love the way she handled her crying scene. If she had bawled it wouldn’t be Ruyi. She’s the type who will cry quietly.

Hmm I think his insanity will be set in stone then 🤣 coz it confirms his suspicion, so there’s no more doubt and apprehension in case it’s not shifu. He will go ALL OUT to get her and get completely unhinged if he couldn’t.

I didn’t finish reading GBOTL coz the Eng translation stopped and I didn’t follow up since but I agree that DMBJ has better characters.
