After watching Ep 8, I’m quite sure the theory that Xiao Ran is no longer here in 2015 is true.

I don’t remember which episode but very early on they got married and then their relationship, love and trust just grew slowly from there.

Something about the govt not encouraging or allowing the promotion of superstitious beliefs. That’s why whenever a character in any drama mentions ghosts for eg, someone else will counter them by asking them to believe in science. They’re that sensitive about it. Such a shame though, imagine how creative plots can be if there’s no such restrictions.

That would be very interesting if so, but I doubt coz it’s a Chinese production and they’re not allowed to make dramas with ghosts. Even if it seems as such, they will have a scientific explanation later.

Middle age Ran? Wang Hedi’s character? He doesn’t look middle age. At most he’d be in his 30s.

Overall it’s a good drama. Only thing I wished could be better is the ending. I wanted to see Qi Zhen meeting Qi Yan. I feel that there should be a scene left with Qi Yan after he got caught but they chose to focus more on the romance instead.

Did they just cut the part where Qi Yan ran to get Zhou Jin? They just appeared on the rooftop suddenly

I kinda feel sorry for Jiang Cheng. He did well as a cop but he lost everything personal that cared about. Such a huge price to pay.

I’ve never seen this actor before. Actually his acting is pretty good. He just unfortunately loses out on the looks. But he definitely left an impression in me.

🤣He’s a creepy psychopath but I couldn’t take him seriously with his hairstyle, especially when he tilts his head and smiles.

I don’t find the actress ugly at all.

I can’t with Qi Yan’s hairstyle 🤣 it makes him look like an auntie.

I don’t have any issue with the actor himself and other roles I’ve seen him in, but alas, child actor He Yuqiong vibes differently from the adult.

I’m not happy with adult Zhang Fang and He Yuqiong actors! So many younger and better-looking actors in China. Why them?? 😅

oh wow thanks for the long post! I love it! Weiyan himself was a victim and I’ve always felt that he’s not entirely evil. He was never abusive to his wife, not even harsh towards her. That tells me something abt his character. No wonder he’s so mad at the useless emperor and told him the trickery had been done before. Xie Zheng and Changyu’s parents were ultimately all victims of the old emperor.

yeah me too. ppl say it’s just a drama but no, if more and more ppl post how much they love these characters and love their psycho obsessions, eventually this will be normalized and that’s not a good thing for us women. i do however, agree that the actors did well.
