I understand both Li Qin and Gu Pingyuan’s actions. What I didn’t understand was Li Qin’s behavior before his father died. He saw and heard how LWT abandoned his 1st wife and children for a life of wealth. By right he should have some pity for GPY the victim here, but when GPY showed up to meet LWT in the temple, LQ behaved as if GPY was the evil one. I agree that GPY pushed LWT to his death & though I disagreed with his actions I totally understand him. All those pent up anger from betrayal and abandonment gotta go somewhere. I think he has a right to judge as a son. Mom letting go was her and LWT’s rights but he also has his rights coz his father not only didn’t play his fatherly role, his father destroyed his future. He could’ve died in Ningguta.

Ok I’ve finished. Overall it’s a good drama but I agree with everyone else that the last few episodes could be a lot better. Ms Su is like a fairy godmother and a ghost, appearing suddenly every time and providing help whenever asked.

I’m baffled about a lot of things now that I’m watching the last episode 😵‍💫

What’s Li Qin thinking? His father owed GPY’s family but he’s now mad at GPY?? Also I don’t understand why he becomes all the things he didn’t like all of a sudden and went the other end of the extreme fighting GPY.

Guys, is the current timeline of Li Cheng and the rebels at war with the Qing govt, the Taiping Rebellion? They’re at war but they never mentioned what war it is.

That scene between Mr Liao and Mr Bai at the latter’s deathbed was so profound and is one of my fav Cdrama scenes of all time.

I’m on Ep 9 & I think that’s some great acting from Li Wantang actor(he was great in The Long River too). His eyes were saying that there’s a lot more that we don’t know about him and his connection to GPY. I’m so curious to know now.

I don’t wanna pay for express when I’m already paying for VIP. They’re releasing the episode one by one now & the last ep will be tomorrow 😅

I don’t disagree with LLF. I have a problem with the way he spoke harshly to SWM and YT. By this time, they’re considered family. SWM never spoke harshly to LLF, prideful or not.

I was so mad at LLF for speaking so harshly to SWM & YT but the moment he apologized I instantly forgave him 😪

I’ve always thought that the writer wrote a version of himself as Su Wuming 😂. He’s also the one that people here said is an expert in Tang Dynasty right?
