Just watched the trailer. Despite the FL being the opposite of what I can withstand and the poor CGI, I'm willing to give this drama a try. I shall be waiting for Eng subs.
I finished this some months ago. I have the final episodes first 20-mins stuck in my head with the song 《最後一句晚安》AKA "Last Goodnight" replaying constantly. That scene broke me.
I tried watching this a few months ago and the ML is unbearable. I understand that is his character and, I'm guessing when I say this, it's supposed to be funny? I find it the opposite - he's so unlikable. The actor is great but the character is not. Not sure what episode I got up to but I quickly dropped anyways.
Really enjoyed this drama! It gave me so many laughs unlike other dramas. One scene was a 'lil uncomfortable to watch but other than that, it was truly an enjoyable watch. The ML has a great smile and such a love-able face! The FL wasn't annoying which is a huge bonus. Supporting characters were great too. The villain was eyecandy for me, not sure why. He did great, legit scared me with his insanity lmao. Who is he? He's not credited in the cast. The opening theme is stuck in my head though, lol. Definitely on my re-watch radar!
This right here every time I have to question a FL love for the ML cause of this matter of fact I don’t think…
Is there even any costume dramas, or even contemporary dramas, that has a FL sacrifice for ML a lot? No Boundary & Dear Herbal Lord satisfied me for this purpose, I guess. It seems they don't like having a strong FL character that is willing to sacrifice for love like they have their ML do and it's kinda disappointing. Happy to see I'm not the only one that thinks like this though!
I've watched both. Personally I preferred Ashes of Love, but both equally got on my nerves. I still have vivid memories of these shows, lol. Don't come at me!
L&R: • Si Feng is a walking bloodbag. • I'm dang sure I can still hear Xuanji shouting his name in my head. • TengShe was the saving grace for me in L&R.
AOL: • I loved Moon Immortal & YanYou in Ashes of Love. • Xufeng's whispering voice? • Runyu's story broke my heart.
PS. Will they eventually make a xianxia where it isn't the ML who sacrifices everything for FL? Role reverse, I'm begging you!!! That also means any love triangle is reversed, instead of the FL causing it, have the ML cause it. Something different!
Where can I watch this drama with English subtitles, please? I'm very interested in this drama but cannot find anywhere to watch that has all English subs.
Finished the drama, and oh boy what a ride that was! A solid 10/10 rating for me, although I don't think I'd rewatch completely as these types of dramas are a watch-once for me. Never the less, I'm glad that I pushed through from where I originally stopped at which was EP 17 - I stopped mainly to try to figure out what was happening, lmao my poor brain is dumb. Tian Qi ended up being my favorite character in the end and I think a spin-off is in need for him!
Edit: After reading some spoilers, I can see why. I'll be passing this drama.

I dislike FL who are really stupid and lead the 2nd ML (and possible supporting roles) on instead of nipping them in the bud - is this FL like this?
