A fun story to watch if you like fantasy, but quite lacking in romance.
I'm on my c-drama spree, and I watched this because I was curious about Esther Yu and Ding Yu Xi's chemistry. As it turns out, there is none.
The story itself is quite interesting and the premise is not bad, but I think the scriptwriting is quite lacking. For a romance series, there was hardly any romance at all, and I really struggled to watch past episode 15-17. The only reason why I could continue is because I wanted to see how the story would unravel in terms of the demon hunting plot, rather than the romance.
For this reason, I'm tanking the rating even though on an individual level, the acting and music and set is fine, but I really was quite disappointed in a the slow turn of the romance.
Overall, I'd give this a watch only if you like fantasy, wholesome genre and don't really care about the romance, as it's the most lacking part in this whole show. For context, there is only 1 kiss in the first 25 episodes, and it's not even real.
