Not defending knot, but unfortunately such phrasing is considered 'normal'. Like it's so normalized that people who use the phrasing don't even mean it in a derogatory way, they just translate pu Shai as straight man and Mai mhong ying (doesn't look at women) as gay man. And usually only non-thai audience get offended so I honestly don't know if it's wrong or if it's one of those things that we're misinterpreting because of different cultures
