Personally, I continue to enjoy this show. I knew exactly what I would be getting into, having been a fan of the source material, I've been pleased with where its improved on the source and I don’t walk into each week expecting it to be anything but what it is. Like...

Saying yes to a cringe public proposal because you don’t want to embarrass your idol Nannon? Love that for you Heng
Making said public proposal out of nowhere and then attempting to steamroll Heng into a wedding? Big brained move Boss
His closest friends/guy who dumped him knowing Heng doesn’t want to get married and still tricking him into a bachelor party? These losers are very much loser-ing

The very thing that makes Heng immensely lovable (his kindness and love for people) makes life difficult for him as he’s so empathetic it’s hard for him to hurt others, even when they need it. So as frustrating it is watching Mo and Boss selfishly make decisions for him and rarely apologize for the hurt and stress they cause him, I get it and them, and it doesn’t diminish my enjoyment for the show

And I’ll echo everyone else: this show would not work at all if literally anyone but Earth Pirapat played Heng. Earth is incredible in this role and this episode was actually a great showcase of that. From his “manly” sobbing at the opening, his hilarious facial expressions when interacting with Alone and during the proposal, the subtle hurt and exhaustion in his interactions with Mo, the warm relief and look of love at the end… he deserves all the praise for his performance, and I’m so impressed with him; I’m now truly a fan!

Is that a popular opinion? Do they actually think Earth and Mix should exchange their roles?? Casting wise this…
I think some people saw that the show features a character at the center of a love triangle and ignorantly assumed it would be the "bottom" without knowing anything about the character...

Seeing a few of these comments (I do think some people are overstating how prevalent they are), I can't think of a reason why people think the roles should be reversed between Earth and Mix that doesn't seem to come down to vaguely homophobic notions some straights / people have about top and bottom dynamics, as if that's all there is to queerness

Because let's be real, on the basis of their performances so far, Earth is absolutely killing it as Heng - he's hilarious, dumb, so kind, annoying, sexy, wishy washy and cringe, and somehow makes it all generally endearing, exactly as the character should be. And yes, I actually agree Earth would also be a great Momo, but I don't think Mix could pull off Heng. His talents are his soft, yearning eyes, not comedy. So to me, they were both cast in the right roles for this project - based on their skills not who people perceive as top/bottom - and are doing a stellar job. Hope people can just chill and enjoy this fun, wholesome show for what it is. Or don't, that is also your right, just try not to be obnoxious about it :)

Heng: "This is illegal, you may get sued for this"
Cher-aim: "I know, that's why I'm using your phone"
Heng: "You're so smart"

LMAO. Someone save this himbooooo

P'Shahkrit and Earth are doing such a good job swinging between the unhinged comedy and the more grounded, human moments. Like, why was I so touched by Cher-aim and Heng's reaction to the origami stars, and Boss' teary reaction to his daughter's acceptance. And then the Hengney reveal happened and I was dying

I think Gang Hui should just burn that whole town to the ground. Gang Hui's dad and Yeon Su's mom and every adult in that godforsaken town suck so much. Genuinely the worst

The writing is so inconsistent, but LSY is doing her best with this mess

I can't believe Ten really dragged himself out of the hospital to help dig (so absurd, omg these idiots haha!) for Heng, only to be abandoned, on his stretcher mind you!!!, the moment they finally spotted Heng on the rooftop

Lessons to take away from this: everyone at this company really, really loves Heng (makes sense why he hasn't been fired yet) & most importantly, it is never worth it to go above and beyond at work. Say no to overtime kids hahaha

The show continues to do a great job balancing the unhinged humor, with real moments of emotional connection.

Things that made me laugh out loud:
-Everything about Boss' meltdown at the thought of Heng and Mo sharing a room, and his awkwardly passive-aggressive proposal
-Meow lying to Ten about leading a group meditation but then ordering booze for the group as soon as she hung up
-Mo's drunken attempts at seduction
-Shirtless, pants-less Heng trying to avoid being seen... just to lock himself out on the rooftop
-Everything Heng did on that rooftop
-The dumbest employees around deciding that Heng was buried alive because of his socks... "Why are you buried vertically like this?" was so perfectly delivered, I was in tears
-Ten waving at the ghost of his dead grandmother, but it's just shirtless Heng on the rooftop asking for help

Things that make me love this show: everything else. At the core of it, this show is about people and their connections with one another - as exemplified by the conversations between Heng and Boss regarding his wife, Heng and Mo struggling to understand each other, etc - and their individual growth as people, which we see in Heng's evolving journey of self-discovery and Kongdech beginning to want to move on from what was clearly a big loss for him. I hope they can maintain this pace and quality throughout

Still finishing up part 2, but I needed to come tell everyone that I am experiencing mind boggling levels of cuteness aggression over two grown men: Heng & Boss

This show is so randomly funny, I don't know why people are acting like it's a constant angst fest. Gang Hui and Yeon Su's meeting as kids was so cute, GH's little scheming smile! Her reaction to his teenage love was so sweet, "I really need to live diligently and well, so that you liking me doesn't feel embarrassing"

I understand Gang Hui, the way anyone who has ever been marginalized, and traumatized by it, can. She became the scapegoat of a whole town, that's a lot. She sincerely cares for ML, but he's simply too weak with the people who matter right now. Loving someone doesn't mean you set yourself on fire to keep them warm, the way she would have to with ML's mess of a mother. Knowing that doesn't make it any easier, and that doesn't make them bad people, just human.

I'm enjoying the show a lot, the relationships, her career.... and it'll be interesting to see how they deal with the romance moving forward

When Heng went "bluh" I cackled. When he followed it up with his whiny "Moooo" I aww-ed. When Mo basically told him shut up and let the adults work it out, I went right back to cackling.
I love this show; it genuinely gives me such... JOY.

And yes it's funny, but the way the characters interact is also so... grounded. It's hilarious and cringy (Hengney???) but you understand why Boss would like a disaster bi like Heng (chased down thief, found bandages, helped him with no ego, is really hot). It's frustrating (I literally was yelling 'no Mo, just tell him') but it's so obvious why Mo would hesitate to tell Heng the truth (he's liked Heng for sooo long, he's not ready to face reality). Heng deserved Chicha's smack (Chicha, my beloved), but you get why he would react so arseholishly after the emotional wringer and sexuality crisis he's been through the past ~48 hours.

Everyone is firing on all cylinders. Shahkrit is clearly having so much fun with this role and is so funny, and Earth is giving range - being funny, adorable and still giving us all these great quieter moments with Mo (sweet Mix).

I just really enjoy watching this show. I highly recommend it. I hope they can keep up this quality for the next 10 episodes!

I'm really looking forward to episode 2 tomorrow (tomorrow for me). I missed Heng and the rest!

I loved that episode 1 went into why Mo fell for Heng, I hope episode 2 goes into why Boss fell for Heng

Ratings on this site were never that reliable and it's gotten noticeably worse in the last year. It's not just this show, but a lot of other shows I'm currently watching (one, also great quality and well-acted, dropped 1.0 in less than 24 hours for no reason), and it's all from new troll accounts. MDL should do something about this if it wants to maintain relevancy.

But also, this show is good and so fun, so this is the last I'll say about ratings. I want to spend time talking about the show itself from now on

Title Ossan's Love Thailand Spoiler
The first episode happened so fast. I almost couldn't catch up 😂.With the fast pace, I was expecting just 8…
Yes!! A few things definitely bothered me about Haruta and Maki's initial relationship, especially the cruel way Maki broke up with him. Really curious to see how they approach that whole plot line in this version

MDL has gotten hit with bad trolling lately. The trolls and chronically unhappy come in early and try to review bomb a show and then it readjusts when the sane people submit their own ratings. No need to take it seriously, but also if you're a sane person, don't forget to submit a rating!

I really enjoyed this deeply unserious show. The characters are fun, the acting performances are strong (Earth and Shahkrit especially are so freaking funny, weird and endearing), the editing and overall production value is good, and it's a solid adaptation and not a point for point remake. It's just a good time, so let's all have a good time!

I found Haruta so annoying initially in the Japanese version and it took me a couple episodes to fully buy into his charm (and then I LOVED him, especially in OL Returns), but Heng was almost immediately endearing (though I get why his mom was sick of his ass). Earth is absolutely uninhibited and hilarious in this yes (I cackled at so many moments from this low IQ himbo), but there's also a lot of heart, especially in the quieter moments between him and Mo in that flashback. It was like ah, I see why people like Mo and the Boss would fall for him, I like him too
