Talking about CFs done well. Apparently the Spicy Chicken Ramen without the chicken will be launched in June officially in stores.. That is cool... With PHJ's popularity in China, I hope for him that he is paid in percentage of sales rather than a flat salary for his contribution of Kkondae intern.
That person that killed herself is Jang Ja Yeon. Yes, Sunny of Boys over Flowers... That Jang Ja Yeon. Jun Chang…
As I said, they covered the whole case up. The reason that this drama should be boycotted is simple: If it flops, people will avoid hiring the director again out of economic reasons. Nobody hires a director that makes losses... So yes, it is punishment. If you cannot hurt him legally, you should hurt him financially... You cannot apply the "hear no-see no"-mentality in this case. It is a shame that the drama is pre-produced. If it was not, then they could hire a different director for the drama, although Sung Jae is in the army.
Anyways, I am done talking to you. Not because I do not appreciate your opposite view, but I do not like the way you talk. For example, "The thing he did sucks"... My God, this is quite an understatement... If you lose a bet, then it sucks... What he did is vile, misogynistic and disgusting. Or stuff as: "Korea is a scary country". What a stupid comment... Do you know what is scary? That perverts like him can roam freely in the world and direct popular kdramas on JTBC and Netflix as if it is no biggie...
Yep!! Record of the most commented drama on MDL!!!
The Douban thing is a self selection bias. There is a Hallyu ban in China, so people that watch The King are mostly Lee Min Ho fans. If it was legally accessible to all Chinese people or the website is used massively by non-Chinese than the score would have more value. Same as with the international viewership outside of Asia in a sense. The ones that watch it are mostly into Korean entertainment and/or Lee Min Ho.
This does not mean that the Chinese or the rest of the world would not like it. It can be the case that if it was broadcasted on national TV, people would go ga-ga for it.
But as of now, the voting of that score consists mainly of diehard Lee Min Ho-fans and does not form a standardized population/sample. The only standardized population/sample we have so far are the Koreans and they do not like it.

Mean? Do you have any form of ethics? Do you understand the gravity of what he did? Jang Ja Yeon was forced by her agency to have sex with powerful people such as Jun Chang Geun. If people such as Harvey Weinstein do not deserve a second chance, then this guy certainly does not either... The actors will be fine, as they have an excuse. But to be honest, Jang Ja Yeon's case was so big in 2009 that there is no reason to believe that the actors did not know... That in itself is so wrong on so many levels... This case is an outright scandal and equivalent to the Burning Sun and Nth Room scandals. But this one was covered up, because there were so many important people involved...
Guysss i just found out something ..i was wondering why the rating suddenly dropped.. i read some korean article…
That person that killed herself is Jang Ja Yeon. Yes, Sunny of Boys over Flowers... That Jang Ja Yeon. Jun Chang Geun was mentioned on the list in her suicide note. Although I pity the actors and the rest of the staff, this show should drop to 0% in viewership rating to make sure that this piece of trash will never get a job again...
Was it accidental or on purpose? I think it might have been on purpose to help the company (and indirectly YC),…
I totally agree with you, but then again the court ruled in favor of the company. We also do not know whether he was the one to have stolen it. Everything pointed to him, because of the conversation between him and the chairman. But we never saw any evidence of the recipe book. YC also did not find anything when he was breaking the cupboard of the old boss. Again, let hope for the best. I hope that the geezer is secretively a good guy that acts tough. I do not want him to be the traditional kdrama scumbag villain. My prediction is that the old boss and YC will learn to appreciate each other and together beat the chaebol heir (the real bad guy of the show)...

Yes! But only in the US and perhaps other parts of the world! But in Asia, it is accepted... Gapjil is so common in Korea, it is unbelievable... Promotion based on seniority and not merit is what they love over here. I mean, besides the senior intern, the two other interns are also quite old... One from 1992 and the other from 1993. The male sunbae was from beginning 1992, but was at the company for only one year. The female sunbae was a contractor who worked for 5 years! This country is special... Let me tell you that... Our closest neighbors (China and Japan) are equally as backwards in terms of workplace culture and promotion.

Yeah, the later episodes will tell. I am not saying that he is good person btw! He is definitely the type the guy that does/did what you were saying, but I do not think that he is the type of guy to ruin the company he is working for. He missed the birth of his kid and the funeral of his mom for his work. All the bad things he did, was all personal but not to the detriment of the company.
Episode 2 was such a fun ride! I love Yeol Chan! It was freaking hilarious how old boss accidentally helped our…
Was it accidental or on purpose? I think it might have been on purpose to help the company (and indirectly YC), because of the scene where the guy returned the car, did the cyclops with the beer cap and the geezer winked back. He also refused to shred the contract when his schoolmate told him to. And followed YC's order by refusing to eat the jjamppong. The boss is a kkondae after all. He is rigid, has a lot of pride and loyalty towards the company he is working for. He wants to defeat YC by being the alpha male and not by playing dirty tricks to please the chaebol heir... The reason that he acted as a lunatic to the Chinese is because he was trying to build guanxi. Although he does not speak the language, he surely worked with the Chinese before and knows that you build trust with them by drinking them under the table. But again, I was not sure. What is your take?
