I’m totally hooked on this drama, even though I’m not a fan of FML’s personality. The storyline has me eagerly anticipating each new episode without even realizing it. But there are a couple of things that didn’t quite meet my expectations.
Firstly, I really wanted that “spell” to break so that ML could genuinely realize his feelings for her. He needs to believe the spell is broken to admit it. I was so disappointed when it failed.
Secondly, the whole “pretty vs. Not pretty” thing in kdramas is confusing. I’ve been watching them for over a decade, and I still struggle with it. FML is considered “average looking,” while SFML is deemed “too pretty.” To me, they both look equally pretty, except for how they dress. It bothered me when the ML said she was nothing compared to SFML.
Lastly, FML’s personality still annoys me, but I’m too curious about the storyline to let it bother me for now.
Despite all this, it’s a great drama. I love the plot and Rowoon’s acting. I rarely cry in dramas, but the way he expressed his emotions while drunk moved me to tears. He’s fantastic.
It's overused but then we should also look into the circumstances she grew up in and the cultural aspect. Being…
I understand the importance of being nice, but there's a difference between being genuinely kind and being overly nice. Being nice and kind to the people who deserve that kindness is also very important. Many cultures promote kindness, and I totally agree with that notion. However, being so nice that you can't stand up for yourself in unfair situations might not align with the true spirit of kindness. Strength, confidence, and self-defense skills aren't in conflict with being nice. You can be both strong and kind simultaneously; I've seen FMLs who embody both qualities.
The fact that she spent a long time relying solely on herself might indeed be a key reason for her to have strength to protect herself. You should understand that being overly nice or lacking common sense is different from craving love. Having a crush on someone who treats you well is natural, and being kind and tolerant is commendable. However, in her case, misinterpreting only two acts of kindness as love and confessing her feelings after only a month, without substantial communication, seems rushed. Additionally, when her co-workers treated her poorly, she was overly accommodating, even apologizing without defending herself. Similarly, when the ML misunderstood her and said hurtful things, she didn't even stand up for herself.
These behaviors can't be solely justified by her circumstances. If anything, her experiences should have contributed to a stronger character rather than passive responses.
Oh my goodness, I couldn't have said it any better. That's exactly what I was thinking. I'm so tired of this type…
Exactly, It's great to find people who share my perspective. It's frustrating how these female main characters often lack common sense and engage in foolish behaviors. Take this drama, for instance; within just two episodes, the FML has been making some questionable choices. It seems like many writers misinterpret the concept of love. They tend to portray the female lead characters as overly pitiable, leading the male lead to develop sympathy that somehow transforms into love. It's sad and annoying
I'm only on episode 2, so I can't say for sure if my judgment is premature, but I'm growing a bit tired of the stereotypical female lead in Korean dramas. You know, the one who's weak, bullied, timid, overly kind, innocent, and seems to rely on a man for protection. It's a trope that often makes it hard for me to stay engaged.
In this particular drama, it's exacerbated by the male lead being portrayed as superior, arrogant, and the complete opposite of the female lead, always there to protect her and rescue her from embarrassing situations. While the storyline seems promising, the female lead's character is a letdown for me.
I've always enjoyed dramas with strong and confident female leads who can stand up for themselves, and it's so satisfying to see them do just that. Unfortunately, this drama doesn't seem to be going in that direction. I'm still watching because of the plot and the talented actors, but if the female lead continues to be portrayed as not very capable, I might have to consider dropping it.

Oh sorry it's my bad! I noticed a bunch of people griping about the romantic scenes, like the camping trip, which made me think you might also be finding it dull because last two episodes were focused more on their romance. But I see your point – there's potential for more in 10 episodes. Still, if they cram everything into 10, the 16-episode arc could suffer. They might've gone for 12 episodes if they did that. Personally, I like this pace better than a rushed 12-episode story.
I have to be onest, i liked and still like it,but after ten episodes the drama become just a little boring/hard…
For me, it wasn't boring at all. I don't find it boring when dramas have calm moments without big shocks. I don't understand why some people find them dull when nothing super dramatic happens. If an episode focuses more on simple romantic moments between the main characters instead of big shocking kind of scenes, many people say it's boring. But I don't see why every single episode has to be super eventful. It's alright to have those calm, simple scenes now and then. Personally, I actually prefer those over the intense scenes that make me feel anxious. There were a couple of times when I sensed a bit of distance between the main characters, and that distracted me a little. But aside from that, both episodes this week were pretty good overall.
The ratings went down slightly from 8.7 to 8.6 after episode 9. I'm wondering if I'm watching the same drama as those who lowered the ratings. Everything has been excellent, and I don't see anything that could have ruined the storyline (in ep 9) in my view. 🤔 It was focused more on romance which is obvious given the genre is ROMANCE.
This episode really got me internally screaming!!!! like omggggggg!!! Also his ex was batshit crae-crae and i…
I have a feeling that she might not actually be dead. It's like when she cut herself before to get Do Ha's attention – I think this whole situation could be another act on her part. In the preview, they're shown digging up a body, but if she really committed suicide, how could she bury herself after dying? It seems either someone else killed her, as you mentioned, or she's still alive.
Ok, episode 9 had me feeling not just butterflies, but even dragons in my tummy. I was so engrossed that I forgot to breathe. It was absolutely amazing!
I'm currently on episode 9. Could anyone recommend a reliable website with accurate subtitles to watch this drama? I tried KissKH, but the subtitles aren't good enough for this one. A free website suggestion would be great!
Although not perfect, I really liked this drama. I loved the messaging of it:1. Normalise choosing your own family.2.…
In my view, the main emphasis seemed to be on the romantic aspect, particularly the relationship between the mother and father. In the latter part of the series, the focus was mostly on their story, and the side stories revolved around their relationship.
I really liked the series at first, but it became less interesting around episode 2 when they focused too much on the mother character. Even though I know the show is about the relationship between a mother and daughter, the mother's behavior got annoying over time. The only reason I kept watching was because I liked the Jin Hee-Jae won story and their story with their teammates at work. I had high hopes for the last two episodes, but I was disappointed with how the last episode turned out.
Right from the beginning, I was excited to see Jin Hee and Jae Won's relationship grow, but their big moment of confessing their feelings was disappointingly short, lasting less than a minute. In the final episode, they didn't get much time on screen. Instead, they spent a lot of time showing the father-mother and aunt-doctor relationships, even though those were supposed to be side stories. This was frustrating because Jin Hee and Jae Won's story felt less important compared to these other couples.
It also felt strange when they suddenly made Jin Hee decide to travel around the world out of nowhere. There were no hints that she liked traveling before, so this part of the story felt forced. And Jae Won's character didn't really change or grow throughout the series. Even though it seemed like he and Jin Hee were dating, it wasn't clear, and his personal story didn't develop much.
One thing that bothered me was that they didn't show whether Jin Hee decided to stay at her job in the police branch or accepted her transfer after her trip. The surprise backpacking story could have been ok if they had shown what happened after she came back. It's a shame that they didn't use the good chemistry between Jin Hee and Jae Won properly. And the way they developed the mother's character was disappointing. While some comments in the comment section suggest that the main focus was the mother-daughter relationship rather than romance, I'm not entirely convinced. As the story progressed, it seemed to shift its focus towards the peculiar dynamic between the mother and father, leaving very little room for anything else. Even the mother-daughter relationship itself appeared to take a backseat. Overall, the last episode didn't give a good ending to the story. It's sad to see a show with so much potential end on a bad note. I'm hoping that Choi Soo Young and Park Sung Hoon will work together in a better project in the future.
also someone please put syaon ceo’s brother and both the mothers in a torturing box so they finally come to…
Put Sayaon into that box before anyone else. I really can't stand her. She's too obsessed and toxic, using Do Ha's most traumatic experience to get what she wants. While many criticize the mother and the CEO's brother, Sayaon's obsession and bothersome nature often go unnoticed. I hate her the most actually. I hope she will get a character growth in the near future.
I shouldn't have watched it today; watching both episodes 7 and 8 tomorrow would have been smarter. How can I handle the wait? I'm really curious about Do Ha's past, it's driving me crazy. I've racked my brain to come up with a theory, but this is all I've got.
I think his ex-girlfriend might be alive, possibly hiding or in a coma. Do Ha might be keeping this secret to protect her. Her brother could accuse Do Ha of her murder, but then she might show up to save him. I'm puzzled about why Do Ha's denial about murdering her come across as lies to Seol Hee, and I'm also wondering why the CEO is working so hard to help him. Nonetheless, I want to reemphasize that this ongoing drama is top-notch for me. It's like a complete package with various genres, truly captivating.
