I watched up to episode 5, and I absolutely loved it. But, I decided to pause because I've heard a lot of negative reviews about the ending, and I'm not sure if I can handle a disappointing conclusion when the show has been so good so far. Part of me wants to pretend episode 5 is the ending, but I'm still tempted to watch the rest. I'm in a bit of a dilemma right now.
What do you guys think about Choeng Ha's disability? Do you think she was born with it or that it might have been caused by something in her childhood? They didn't really explain how she became deaf, but considering Eun Gyeol's brother has the same condition, I'm inclined to believe she was born with it.
Although Yi Chan remembers their first encounter at the sign language center, I believe Cheong Ha knew him long…
He was talking about things in general. He didn't mean everything changed, but indeed, many things did change because Eun Gyeol traveled back to past. For example, in the original timeline, Yi Chan and Choeng Ha were supposed to fall in love after meeting in the sign language center. However, because Yi Chan's hearing is unaffected, he doesn't have to learn sign language, and Choeng Ha doesn't need to attend the sign language center because she's learning from Eun Gyeol. These are the kinds of changes he referred to, not every single thing. The fact that Yi Chan formed a band remains consistent in both the original and altered timelines. Similarly, things that Eun Gyeol wasn't involved in won't change just because he traveled to the past. He must take actions to influence future events; time travel alone doesn't change anything. Eun Gyeol wasn't even aware that his mother was around Yi Chan until episode 8, let alone interfere in Yi Chan and Cheong Ha's encounter at the bookstore. That encounter occurred before Eun Gyeol met Cheong Ha in 1995, so there's no way he influenced it. Cheong Ha was already in love with Yi Chan in both the altered and original timelines by the time Yi Chan met her again at the sign language center. He just couldn't remember it, so in 2023, Yi Chan believes he met her for the first time at the sign language center and fell in love. Their first encounter at the bookstore would have happened anyway, with or without Eun Gyeol's time travel.
Although Yi Chan remembers their first encounter at the sign language center, I believe Cheong Ha knew him long…
Ok, how exactly did it specifically affect their first encounter at the bookstore? Im curious how Eun Gyeol's time traveling has anything to do with Yi Chan and Choeng Ha's first encounter in the bookstore, where Yi Chan saved Choeng Ha from a couple of books that were about to fall on her? Eun Gyeol may have time-traveled long before that encounter happened, but he had nothing to do with that specific encounter. The past doesn't change on its own due to time travel; it requires effort or actions to be altered. But both Yi Chan and Choeng Ha went to that bookstore on their own, not because of anything Eun Gyeol did, which means they did the same in the original timeline. As far as I remember, Yi Chan went to that bookstore because he was looking for a comic or something, and Choeng Ha was also a regular visitor there. That's why they met that day. It wasn't because of Eun Gyeol or his time travel. I wonder if I missed something.
Finally completed watching it. It was very interesting in the beginning but got a little boring later on. Although it lost my interest, it wasn't as bad as some reviews and comments suggest. I saw a lot of comments about the love triangle in this drama being the worst love triangle ever. For me, it was not the worst but the best. In other dramas, we often end up with a strong second lead syndrome or feeling bad for the second lead because they get a heartbreak they don't deserve. But in this one, I was so happy whenever he got hurt because he was so annoying. This is probably the only drama where I was genuinely happy about a second lead getting rejected over and over. So, for me, this love triangle is the best, rather than having another nice second lead who gets rejected by the female lead despite doing everything for her.
I think Segyoung first love is Yoon Dong Jin. Based on Yonn Dong JIn interview on 2023 he was a member of a band…
This is a good theory, but during the time when Yi Chan and Eun Gyeol performed at the concert with her fiancé, she said herself, 'I really hate bands.' I thought the reason she said that was because of her first love who was in a band. I assumed he must've done something wrong, which is why she hates bands. If that were the case, Dong Jin couldn't be her first love because she didn't meet Dong Jin in the altered past. And also, Se Gyeong moved to the USA as soon as they formed a band, so even in the original timeline, I don't think it could be anyone from Yi Chan's band, let alone Dong Jin
I really need the story of Alternate Timeline (w/o time travel effect) where yichan and cheongah meet at sign…
Although Yi Chan remembers their first encounter at the sign language center, I believe Cheong Ha knew him long before that, and their initial meeting actually took place in the bookstore, just like it did in the altered past. This aspect can't change merely because of the alterations caused by Eun Yu and Eun Gyeol's time travel. It occurred prior to any of their time-traveling adventures, so I think Yi Chan simply doesn't recall their meeting during their high school days, which is why he believes their first encounter happened at the sign language center.
It is impossible that she stops her dad from meeting her mom and having her. She must be born in order to be in…
Oh, I totally forgot about Ha Eun Gyeol's brother. After seeing what Se Gyeong said to Eun Yu about her pretending to be deaf, I also think they like the same person. However, things could change if they alter the past.
Regarding what you said about Oh Eun Yu's existence, I still can't agree with you because, even though it's the same universe and the same timeline, I believe her being in the past at the moment has nothing to do with her current existence. As I explained, she still exists because the past hasn't changed yet. But if she manages to change it, Eun Yu could disappear later on. For now, she exists because the past remains the same. If she can't really do anything, the shop owner would've told her so. When she shared her plan with him during the phone call, he himself said she's smart for thinking of preventing her own existence like that, which means there's a possibility of achieving it by changing the past. So, while it may seem theoretically improbable, in the context of the drama, I believe she still exists because she hasn't changed the past yet. If she manages to change the past as she intends, she will disappear later.
It is impossible that she stops her dad from meeting her mom and having her. She must be born in order to be in…
First, let's clarify that Ha Yi Chan and Ha Eun Gyeol are not interested in the same girl. Yi Chan has feelings for Se Gyeong, a girl he met before she moved to the US. On the other hand, Eun Gyeol has a crush on Oh Eun Yu, who happens to be the daughter of Se Gyeong from the future. The first time Eun Gyeol saw the real Se Gyeong in front of the school, he didn't feel anything for her. His feelings developed later, specifically during their visit to the amusement park. However, it wasn't Se Gyeong; it was Oh Eun Yu pretending to be her. For me, it would have been quite weird if Eun Gyeol had feelings for the real Se Gyeong, especially considering that she's the same age as his dad, even though she's younger in 1995. Secondly, the one currently in Korea isn't Se Gyeong; she's still living in the USA. It's Oh Eun Yu who left the US and came to Korea. They look remarkably alike, which is why everyone assumed she was Se Gyeong. You might remember that she went to great lengths to hide her face at school in episode 8. That's because the real Se Gyeong continues to reside in the USA, and having her present in the school in Korea could add more complexity to the situation. There's no mystical body-swapping happening – Oh Eun Yu simply time-traveled back to 1995 in her own body, similar to what Ha Eun Gyeol did. So, even if she's attempting to change her mom's life by pretending to be her, it won't work because her mom, Se Gyeong, is still living in the US, following her own life path as she should. At least, that's how I see it. What you mentioned makes sense if Oh Eun Yu's soul enters Se Gyeong's body, and it's still Se Gyeong's body, and only their souls were swapped. I don't think that's what happened. I think they are two separate people, one lives in US and the other time traveled to Korea in 1995. Even if Oh Eun Yu doesn't end up being born as she originally planned by altering the past, she would still exist in the future and could continue to time travel to 1995. That's because, in the context of this drama, the past, present, and future seem to operate in a cyclical manner. In the past that has already transpired, Se Gyeong and her fiancé married each other and had Oh Eun Yu. Unless Eun Yu manages to entirely change things in 1995, she would still exist in the future and have the ability to travel back in time. If she succeeds in altering the past as she intends, she might potentially vanish later on, but for the moment, she exists, and the future has not changed. It's worth noting that we all have different perspectives, especially in time-traveling dramas. Your theoretical idea might be more accurate, but it could complicate the entire time-travel plot in the context of the drama.
I'm so relieved that Choi Se Gyeong turned out to be Oh Eun Yu from the future. Otherwise, it would have been pretty weird and creepy by now (Because Eun Gyeol has a crush on her now). I'm just not sure if my theory is spot on about this. But even if she's pretending to be her mom and trying to find her first love, it wouldn't alter the future much because the real Se Gyeong is living her life in the U.S., and her fiancé is planning to join her there. So, they'll eventually get married and have Oh Eun Yu as their daughter. That part seems pretty set unless the real Se Gyeong comes back to Korea. I'm curious to know what makes Oh Eun Yu believe that what she's doing can change the future.
I can't believe some people are already saying it's boring and rating it low. Come on, it's only been four episodes, and we shouldn't be judging and comparing it to "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon already. These are two different dramas, and it's not fair to put them side by side. Personally, I loved it. It was a lot of fun to watch. I'm relieved that they didn't drag out the "looking for the family" plot, or I'd be frustrated watching them miss each other so many times. I'm enjoying everything about this series so far and can't wait for the next episode. The cameo of Hyung Sik and Park Bo Young makes it even better. The only thing I can't quite get used to in this series is the villain. Byeon Woo Seok plays the villain, and I know I should hate his character, but I just can't bring myself to hate him because it's him.
I didnt watch ep 8 yet. Can someone spoil me if Ha YI Chan gone deaf after what happened in episode 7 as showed in the preview or were we just misled as usual?
I've noticed that people often label simple and romantic dramas as "boring" these days. It's a bit sad how our society has become so complex that we can't enjoy the simple pleasures anymore. I've been watching kdramas for over a decade, and I remember how much people used to love these kinds of dramas with happy endings. It's disappointing to see that now, people seem to have so many conditions for enjoying a drama.
As for me, I loved this drama. It's like some singers don't explain the meanings of their songs, allowing listeners to interpret them as they like. This drama had many moments without explicit explanations, and I enjoyed that aspect. I don't believe everything has to be realistic and spelled out for us to enjoy it. We can interpret things in our own way and find joy in the fantasy. Those elements didn't bother me at all. From the plot to the acting, it was excellent. I absolutely loved the perfect ending and felt butterflies throughout the drama. I couldn't ask for more, and I'm truly satisfied with every aspect of it. I'm really going to miss it every week for a while.
I stumbled upon an FMV of this today, and it brought back all the tears. Despite what others might say about it being realistic, I'll never grasp why they couldn't make it work. They were such a perfect match. Their breakup feels utterly unnecessary to me. I get it when leads in dramas meet tragic ends; it's sad but understandable, and I can eventually accept it. But this one? I don't think I'll ever accept or understand it in this lifetime.I'll forever hold a grudge against the writers and whoever was behind the creation of this drama.
Hey there, fellow drama enthusiasts! If any of you happen to have some clear answers to the burning questions…
Oh thank you so much.. This really gave me a much needed closure to the story. It'll take some time for me to move on from them as i really enjoyed every bit of it. I really forgot about the star thing.

Hey there, fellow drama enthusiasts! If any of you happen to have some clear answers to the burning questions I dropped in my above comment, I'd be over the moon if you could share your insights. It's all about helping me move on from this drama 😅
I initially steered clear of fantasy and wuxia Chinese dramas because, let's be real, most of them tend to wrap up with anything but a happy ending. Tragedy or open-endedness seems to be the norm, and that's just not my jam. My very first foray into the wuxia drama was "Holy Pearl," and unsurprisingly, it too left me hanging with an open ending, just like all the others I'd seen.
But then, something about "Love You Seven Times" caught my eye – that jaw-dropping cinematography. I couldn't resist, and once I started watching, I was hooked on the storyline. I absolutely adored how the characters kept finding each other across lifetimes, falling in love over and over again. And since they were immortal beings, I thought, "Hey, there's no way this one's going to end tragically, right?" Wrong.
Don't get me wrong; it was a happy ending, but it left me with more questions than answers. I mean, seriously, we only got to see their reunion in the mortal world! What about the heaven realm? Did she travel back into the past to be with him because hes no longer exist in the present? And what happens when they wrap up their mortal lives? Do they head back to the heaven realm, or are they confined to that one lifetime in the mortal world?
I'll be honest; this ending has me in a bit of a drama hangover. It's like we didn't get that satisfying closure I was hoping for. It's made me hesitant to dive into another wuxia drama, even though the storyline here was absolutely amazing. So, if I were to rate it, I'd give it an 8.5, despite the ending. But man, what could have been with a more conclusive finale!
