Susu weaker? I have to watch until the end to fully comment on that. However, I can say so far a lot of her actions are not consistent with what she actually thinks or want to do. She’s being sweet to TTJ, even though she wants to kill him. The funny scenes can make her look dumber I guess, but where she came from, she was pretty pampered by everyone around her, which made her pretty naive when she arrived in the mortal world. One thing I noticed that I didn’t like is her lack of martial art skills in the mortal world. In the novel, she even saved her dad’s life.
TTJ did act pitiful, even in the novel until Susu finds out about him using magic, then he will stop pretending in front of her. There’s a lot of graphic things he did in the novel that will definitely not show for censorship issues, which can make his character softer. I want to watch until the end to fully comment on TTJ’s evil actions.

Her character is hateful. She posses as a nice person, but deeply conniving and manipulative. She will try her best to be queen, no matter who the king is.

Not sure if its the same for the show. In the novel, Li Susu has access to all Ye Xiwu’s memories. I guess they changed this to mix in some of the funny parts.

Some translations are really confusing, so I don’t blame you for getting confused, I had to find a few versions of the novel before understanding it. That translation is not perfect, but its the most readable I can find.

Its not that TTJ is good, he just realized that is how he can show his love for Susu. That is what Susu wanted, so thats what he did. Its for Susu not the world. Even at the end he didn’t think Susu loved him. In the tomb Susu found TTJ’s tomb that he made beside hers. Its says —"Ye Xiwu's husband, the tomb of Tantai Jin." But it says Susu cArved it herself. At the end TTJ tried to convince himself that Susu loved him. He also left a jade box with some momentos of the 2. He made up a monologue between the 2 which contains when signing the tombstone, he wrote that it was engraved by Susu.

Start with CH 123 to understand the fight.

I can try to explain as simple as I can, TTJ sent Susu into the door of death knowing she will turn into god and kill him since Susu will pick the world over him, he was clear about that. TTJ had planned on resurrecting all souls taken and destroying the formation for good, so that the next demon god wont be able to destroy the world. He knew Susu will always try her best to protect the world. Susu destroyed his evil bones as he predicted and dissipated. TTJ has accepted that no one in the world will love him. 100 Years later Susu went to her tomb from 600 years ago when she was a mortal, and found out the truth and cried even though gods are not capable of doing that ( this is a very sad scene I won’t go into details).
The big deal about killing TTJ is because he is expected by the demons to do so. Demons are his people and he should protect them, since its hard for mortals and demons to coexist. The demon world and mortal world got divided by a barrier, and Susu stayed in the demon world with her daughter and ruled there.
I think she got pregnant with her daughter when she pretended to be his concubine.

After watching these, there’s a big chance you will want to check her other works. 😊

They will probably tone down that overly conceited part since the FL won’t look good right from the beginning. However once I understood her character I realized she’s actually insecure in a lot of ways. Those conceited remarks are her defense mechanism for making her feel better after being cheated on. She wants to look confident in front of others. Shiyan is the only person that understood that about her. At one part she wanted to be pampered a lot by Shiyan, and only he understood its because she doesn’t feel like she deserves him, that is also why she felt Shiyan didn’t want her even if she gave hints once she started living with him. They will have a talk to resolve that issue later on.

I can’t wait to see how Bailu created this character, its really challenging to be annoying and liked at the same time. Hopefully she will only look silly and cute, instead of annoying. So far I love all the characters she created from her previous works. You can totally differentiate each characters, and with almost no hint of her real personality.

I read the whole thing, I agree, a lot of her actions are exaggerated. ( which was annoying, I don’t get why the author made her supper annoying in the beginning, it gets better though) ,I understand this was because she wanted to seduce the ML, without knowing how. Her character is supposed to be super pretty and smart, hence guys always pursued her, this is the first time she tried to pursue a guy. Her flirting turned into exaggeration and cheesy pick up lines hahaha ( she will realize how annoying she was later on, and the ML will make fun of her). Due to her exaggerated and unnatural actions, ML knows from the start she’s after something, he was just not sure what that is, but since he’s smitten by her, he goes with the flow to simply have more time with her, but also guarding himself until he finds out what she’s after.

I am pretty nervous about the FL character. I saw some clips and Bailu followed the book’s character, hence people might not like the exaggerated/ cute acting, specially for people who have not read the book. Most actors will not even try to follow the FL’s actions in the book, its really hard to pull through, its probably why they casted Bailu, she was up for the challenge.

I also read the book, Alila Nyuyen has the most accurate description of the ML and the FL. I love Li Susu’s character, she showed some compassion even though she saw personally how evil the ML is in the future. I love how she prioritized her mission even if it broke her heart. I don’t get why people hate her character, since all the manipulations she did was due to saving the world, even if its the expense of the person she started to care about. She is definitely one of the strongest female character Ive seen. I like the ML’s character as well. People should never forget, he was simply born Evil. He was also abused in so many level, most people would not be able to endure it. However in the end, he tried his best to atone for his actions towards the FL and learned to compromise simply to understand Li Susu’s goal for the world, in-spite of being a psychopath.

There’s one ending from what I read, She dies in the mortal world and returns to her original timeline, which is more than 500 years in the future (probably the ending of Part 1) but meets again having a daughter with a happy ending.
