“It’s all meaningless” - Rottip season 1 after saving Eunseom from the bear, sniffing him and realizing he was Asa Hon & Ragaz’s son and then walking away.
Theory: . my guess is that the Neanthals also know about the Sword, Bell, Mirror prophecy which required both Igutu twins, the sword and the mirror, to be alive. Since Ragaz took Saya (Geumha) before dying and baby Saya dissapeared they believed he died. But now they have discovered he is alive, which means both twins, the sword and the mirror are alive, thus there is still hope for the prophecy, for the return of Aramun and the saving of Neanthals to possibly live freely in society. this is why Rottip was so cold when leaving Eunseom, he thought there was no hope for the prophecy. “it’s all meaningless. Only one survived” So I think now we will see more involvement with the Neanthals, who after discovering Saya is alive, has renewed their greatest hopes for the prophecy, the sword bell and mirror, of the return of Aramun, the Igutu, who wanted a safe place in the Arthdal for Neanthals to exist without being hunted.
I do wish Eun Seom and Tanya didn't kiss so soon though. Should have built up more moments to help them rediscover…
Eunseom has had dreams that Tanya was in. it’s irrelevant if they were only about her rather than Saya. He has still be connected to her through them since they’ve been apart. Onscreen we only saw one dream with Saya and Tanya that Eunseom saw but off screen over 8 years there were likely more of them. Same with Tanya, her dreams, visions, nightmares have had 8 years off screen. Seeing snippets in his dreams of Tanya with someone who looks like him but isn’t him has been a driving force for him the time they’ve been seperated.

They’ve actually been building up for the first 18 episodes plus 3 episodes from the new season. It was made clear they were childhood /teen sweethearts. It was repeatedly said that Eunseom was “Tanya’s crush” in season 1 (her dad said it) and that she made a clear distinction of romantic feelings for Eunseom versus NO romantic feelings for Saya. And on Eunseoms side, he made clear he loved Tanya in season 1 and tried to kiss her. The consistent theme for all of season 1 was each of them desperately trying to reunite with each other. They dream about each other.
So if you think about it it’s basically two childhood sweethearts who have been pining for each other for over 8 years desperately wanting to meet again, but now they are adults, mature and ….. soulmates. So they can’t hold themselves back from expressing themselves in a way they have wanted to since they were teenagers.
I guess they initially regarded Eunseom as just some random Igutu, but with Saya (and Chae Eun also being present)…
in season 1 when they save Eunseom from the bear they said after meeting Eunseom while walking away “that is Asa Hons son….” “So that is Ragaz son!” 1. Rottip said “it’s all meaningless” as to why he didn’t do anything about it.
New Neanthal is very hot though. very very hot 😍😍😍😍😍😍 he also was established in the flashback…
no Yiseunroobeau is older, he is Ragaz’s age group but there were two young Neanthals with Asa Hon in the beginning. we never learned the second ones name until now. That’s why he says he grew up with Asa Hon, knew the twins as babies and why he speaks their language. Yiseunroobeau doesn’t speak their language because he’s older and was likely Ragaz’s friend as he was his age
Ok there is something bothering me... Im not feeling Lee JoonNOOOO just kidding. 😂🤣 Sorry. Seriously now:…
New Neanthal is very hot though. very very hot 😍😍😍😍😍😍 he also was established in the flashback scenes from first season as the other young Neanthal with Rottip so we know who he is. I think last season they said there are like 5 male Neanthals left and no females….
I don’t understand why some of you feel it is your duty to police peoples opinions and feelings about this or any drama. This is not a fan cafe. it’s not a fan club. it’s not a place that fans of certain actors need to police the feelings of those who may not be as devoted. SJK’s fans used to do this with Vicenzo and any criticism of him or the show and it was terrible and turned people off to SJK. LJG does not need hyper vigilant defenders to become so overly defensive they cannot tolerate anyone who is not absolutely in love and happy with his portrayal in season 2. if people have a hard time adjusting to a new Saya and Eunseom, or new Nyeonbol , Chaeunn etc …. whoever… it doesn’t need to be explained away. This is where people express THEIR PERSONAL FEELINGS and they are entitled as you are entitled to express yours but if you are “losing sanity” with any criticism maybe touch grass and get some perspective that it’s a drama, it’s art that people either connect with or they don’t, and if they are not connecting with this version it’s not because they are “wrong”. it just is what it is. Art is SUBJECTIVE. This was an established IP with established world building, actors and characters, this season has enormous change in casting, not just the main leads, it’s a lot of adjusting for people both with the new actors and the new visual aesthetic. let people express their feelings as they watch. Encourage them to keep watching. Empathize with their difficulty adjusting if anything.
The show is still phenomenal. it’s still compelling and amazing and a wonderful drama but let’s let people freely state their views without acting like you have a duty to combat them for some bizarre irrational reason.
because the roll out has been a mess. it first rolled out only in Korea with no subs. then to a few more countries…
it’s not a one week delay for most markets. it is STILL not airing in most markets. aside from that basic fact, it was released with NO eng subs available while 99% of Kdrama’s in the last 4 years will have eng subs available on some platform somewhere. So people had to wait for auto subs and fan subs. this is not common in the year 2023 anymore. The show has no U.S. release date. None. As a NETFLIX show yes, the rollout has been a mess with little communication for some of the markets who are the biggest International fans.
it’s ok to absolutely love a show and still be objective enough to criticize where they have fallen short.
since seems many of you apparently forget about this fact and expect season 2 to repeat the same mistake just…
the changes they made in costuming do not make it look more Korean and less western, they just make it look cheaper, grungier, bulkier and less rich. If Knetz prefers a grungier uglier aesthetic that’s their right. but it doesn’t look any more Korean than it did last season. it just looks worse overrall 🤷🏻♀️ there is no improvement in the ratings so the changes did not increase viewership compared to season 1 and only bothered fans so in the end, was it worth it to listen to the knetz?
knetz are usually a very loud, very wrong minority and it never works out listening to these bullies.
I extremely extremely love this show, love the story and characters and it’s still a 9.5 to me in season 2, but I can still clearly and objectively see the obvious flaws in season 2.
also, MDL is an international website. it’s not a domestic site for the domestic Korean audience so the feedback here will obviously be from international fans, many of whom were the shows largest supporters keeping the fanbase active over the past 4 years so while it’s somewhat enlightening to know what the domestic media is saying, it’s not going to impact much here.
Hi Ancient.I dont think so...Tagon alone kill all the men before get to the fake arok. Thats an igutu thing. Also…
it’s not that impressive at this point in the story. I’m any action movie you find main characters who can take on 50 men. They are highlighting the incredible powers of Neanthal while making Igutu’s very indistinguishable in many ways from Saram. yes they are half Saram, but at this point in the storyline I want more.

8 years later it should be more apparent and pronounced. IGUTU’s are very underwhelming compared to Neanthals. there should be more difference between Saram and Igutu’s since they are highlighting the huge difference between Igutu’s and Neanthals.
