I Bomba'd on the Milky Way
Sunday or Juanday
This is a rare show where I actually remember the characters names. And theres like double characters that look the same in this show. Insane how they found 3 pairs of actors that look the same and sound the same but have such distinct acting styles. The casting director should get a raise. Bro is cooking
Story wise, theres really nothing to complain about. It was complicated but told in a way that was easy to understand. The foreshadowing was crazy with it. The only complaint I could have is that the acting and the way some scenes are directed dont have as much emotional impact as it could have. Like when it was revealed that Mo Jun Jie was the murderer it was pretty much glossed over and didnt really have much emotional impact. If they either focused on that scene more, or removed it to have more impact in the final scene, that would have been crazy (though this is keeping in mind that i thought that he kills her in the end which he doesnt. Would be a crazy twist though). Overall the story was really nice and delved into all the important characters. Even side characters that are overlooked. They become pivotal parts of the story and thats amazing to see. Its genuinely good writing. At the start we get used to these characters not really worrying or caring too much about one of the characters and it kinda conditions you to not care either. Only later on do you kinda realise. Ayo this kinda fucked up especially because characters care about the girl more when shes lively and cheerful. And when shes gloomy they actively tell her they like her when shes happy and shit. Like damn just let a girl be emo without judging wtf. I would also just like to point out that LI Zhi Wei had been living by himself trying to save people and solve stuff and then like 2 days after he was finally able to reunite, Huang Train Sheng got his ass killed.
The acting was interesting at times. It was abit hard to fully be immersed just because the main character did not act like a 27 year old trapped in a 15 year olds body. There were some questionable behaviours and random goofy things from random side characters and what not. Its not that its like bad or anything but it just distracts from the serious tone of the show since in away it is able dealing with loss and not living in the past. Overall the emotional impacts are done nicely and its good.
The music was pretty peak and used very effecively throughout emotional scenes. Very memorable songs which very distinct scenes attached to them. Very good shit. Will be putting alot of these in the drama ost playlist.
There was alot of foreshadowing and scenes that went over my head. And because of the mysterious plot, it will be a pleasure to rewatch. Shit was produced well. And like a well written book, you could probably pop in to any sort of scene and just be able to sit there and enjoy rewatching the show.
I was watching a scene in a later episode where a character was saying "The furthest thing in the universe..."
And theres this cinematic pause where she contemplates her life.
I said "is you"
And then the show said "is you".
At that moment, I had felt such a sensation that it was akin to when I figured out how to pirate movies for the first time. That shit felt like I was Joseph Joestar and that I had observation haki. And this wasnt the only moment. There were so many scenes where it would play out in a peak manner and build amazing moments in the show. (They were not cliches. It was just written well, aka the exact way I would have wanted it written. fuck you).
Someday or One Day is peaks hard.
Good shit
Like a Taiwanese Your Name with more mystery, violence, sadness and romance.
And also has more Taiwanese people in it.
