I really think it's not that deep as the drama as a whole is not that deep....

I don't think so, as she is already going through so much online trolling and attacks just with the news of them dating or seen together. So, of he really cared then he would have said something else rather than ' just date him and not marry him'

I don't understand the SML's stance - "Date him but don't marry him"...lol, so let's say that she dates him for some 5-10 years then breaks up, will he wait till then. What if she doesn't want to marry him after that and dates one more person, will he wait for that to breakup as well.....lol...so stupid

I thought, the 1st season was very good and the concept of emotion cells were new. But , from second season it felt repetitive. So, I am not watching this and we know that he is the end game so we know the climax already

If he dethrones himself so obviously there will be shift of power and by hierarchy, his brother will be the next king . If, he dies while still sitting on the throne then his son will be the next king.

She is acting since 2011, so that would be 15 years on the acting side (veteran actress). So, I guess more than a decade of time to improve right. Again, these are high profile dramas, with big budgets so we cannot be like she is a singer or he is coming from the modeling background. They are getting paid a lot. Like you said, her track history is amazing so she would have charged a good amount. Don't hesitate to debate. If you don't like something, don't give yourself excuses that she is not from acting. It's their job when she sign a drama to deliver that role . Nobody is denying or taking away from her previous successes... This fell short, that's it

Hotel del Lina - Semi dead rich blunt woman who is running this hotel for dead
My Mister - In this, she is poor but gloomy, quiet woman who is closed off.
Moon Lover - Mostly the same character as this, who is kinda bubbly who time travelled to joseon era
Producers - She is this icy princess who keeps distance from everyone.

You can actually go over her filmography on MDL itself and you will get to know how similar her characters are (irrespective of her background i mean, she is cold if she is poor in a drama or she is cold even if she is rich) .

Fun fact😊: She was offered the role of FL of Queen of Tears (The character where the FL is rich, smart sassy, blunt, has a brother problem who is dumb, cold/ icy queen, ambitious) ----doesn't this sound like the role from this drama . She rejected it and it went to Kim Ji won and rest is history.

I feel like IU is getting typecasted at this point of time...I have seen all her previous dramas, the pattern is the same
...cold, outspoken/blunt, rich ( depends), outstanding, pale face/ straight face to emote that coldness. I mean, I don't mind this but this is now getting repetitive.... Also, for the 1st time I have felt she is doing over the top acting in this drama....I just squeezed my eyes when she was in the restaurant with prime minister Min where she was wearing that hat and trying to look at the menu.....God!!! It was really unbearable.

I have also seen Byoen Woo Soek's most of the dramas where he had just a min's role and where he was not a superstar yet. He has that royal aura or commanding authority needed for this role. So far, this role of his is different from his previous hit drama lovely runner. So , it didn't feel like there is lacking like what I am seeing from few of the comments or online hate.....

I was so excited with the cast when this drama was announced. There is nothing wrong with this drama but this drama also feels so 'been there, seen that'...it's also very easy to predict what will happen in the upcoming episodes....no wonder , it is just 12 episodes..

I don't know why i thought that there will be two couples in this drama - ML & FL and Queen mother & Prime Minister (that's how it looked it looked like in the trailer). I hope this doesn't come true at least the later part because after two episodes, this b****h of a queen mother doesn't deserve the 2ML. Also, she shouldn't have any redemption arc as well......

She looks so hungry to sit on the throne that she would have made one more kid with someone else if the current child king had died in the fire along with his dad. She just wants the dummy throne irrespective of any route.

Also, the tension between the ML and the queen mother looks more than just resentment or suspicion of him coveting the throne. It looks like they had some past relationship, that is why she didn't flinch even when she saw her brother-in-law in just bathrobe in the hotel.

It looked like he was impressed by her straightforwardness. Nowhere it showed that he liked her.

I loved the modern setting but apart from that the writer has just refurbished everything from Joseon 9-10th century era.

The entire 1st episode the ML has done either hunting (don't know if it is still legal), calligraphy, reading a book, painting, archery. I mean, you are telling me a young rich man in the 21st century is killing his time doing all these outdated stuff....common.....In olden times, ofcourse there was no internet or electric or proper transport so they would do all these things to kill time but now.....the prince is doing the same stuff doesn't feel believable....Next is what, horseback riding.....

I thought the ML's character would be a rebel because all his life he was sidelined to make way for his brother but now what is stopping him (So, he just wore some non permitted attire for the King's birthday and that's it. That's being rebel...lol). There is no father or brother. Even if he doesn't want the throne, he could atleast shut his sister in laws mouth when she said she will choose a girl for him to marry..i mean, she is not his mother nor he is a teenger who can be brainwashed so i am still skeptical about his character as to what he want.....1st he told the Prime Minister to use his veto to cancel his marriage and then he just agreed to his sister in law who spewed some nonsense and he got influenced.....common....make it, make sense

IU's character whatever it is, atleast we know what she wants or her personality but ML's character is very confusing

i wonder if any actor would say their drama is boring....think about it

I also think Jin Mu is the father of SFL and killed the Brother, the king to make his grandson the king and through his daughter, take complete control of the throne.

I saw somewhere that, SFL was ML's 1st love and she got married to his brother etc etc......

I feel the creators are solely encashing on Byeon Woo Soek and IU's popularity
