The real pain lies in “losing a loved one.” When I truly understood Bai Jiusi’s pain, I finally stepped into his world—especially in the “reliving the loss of his child” scenes. It was a long, tragic film, and the pain seeped into me bit by bit. I realized this pain far surpassed the pain of heavenly thunder. I began to think beyond technique, to feel the depth of pain, to express pain in different ways—until it reached the point where the pain was so deep, you couldn’t even feel it anymore…Third is Jiusi’s regret.I wonder when everyone thinks Bai Jiusi started to feel regret? Most might say it was after he learned the truth about his child’s death. But I personally believe his regret began when he met Li Qingyue. With every moment—Xiao Qiuguo, peeling crabs, offering his life pearl—I quietly infused his regret. Not everyone lets themselves be influenced by ratings, especially since we know haters will downrate it on purpose. moreover, both Northward and Only for Love didn’t get great ratings, but they’re still hits to this day especially Northward, which number even surpassed MM.Even though it didn’t get much international recognition since most people are more interested in idol dramas.Bai Lu’s dramas always have a long tail effect. They keep attracting viewers and staying relevant for a long time.
