He didn't tell him so they could drag this out for 12 episodes 😂 look, I've seen things that a child who understands the concept of cause and effect could have written better, and still some people went 'omg this was so good' about it, so I have no answer for you. For me, this was probably the worst chinese bl I've ever watched🤷‍♂️

Agree. The 'love' was all in people's interpretation, because surely it was not on my screen
To me, Xiaofan's obsession was more understandable. When everyone you meet treats you like absolute shit, you would latch on anyone who sometimes shows you a bit of kindness, even if it's just scraps. Luqing truly baffles me tho. From start to finish, he treated Xiaofan like a slave and ordered him around costantly. He never defended him and just watched as people constantly abused him, to the point this felt like emotional torture porn to me. Also I genuinely don't get when or how he could have fallen in love, given that Xiaofan didn't show him even a hint of a personality for 10 episodes. He just lowered his gaze and went along with everything he said. Luqing was obsessed with a toy he had control over, at most. You actually have to talk to someone to fall in love. Sorry for the long answer, apparently this show left a very bad impression on me!

I watched 'til the end because I hoped to see this 'love' everyone assured me was there and he does not, in fact, redeem himself. They just reunite, don't have a single conversation, and get married. Where was the love?? I like toxic yaoi sometimes, but it has to be well written and nuanced. This was just Xiaofan being tortured for most of the series by everyone, INCLUDING his so-called lover

this show should've been called stock traders anonymous instead of bittersweet love. bitch where love?
That's what I'm saying! To love someone you have to know them, and to do that you have to actually talk to each other and these guys got married without having one single conversation

makes so much sense. how they ended up together after all that doesn’t make sense to me.
I barely even understand how they fell in love if they didn't communicate at all. For years! You have to know a person to love them

the only good thing about this show was the story of lu xiaofan with shen zhiqin 😭 they were so compelling,…
I made an account just to answer your comment because finally a like-minded person! I swear other people watched a different show! Xiaofan's so-called growth was too little too late, and when I genuinely asked someone who really liked the show why (I want to understand), they responded with statements about the 'amazing love story' and I'm like...where is it? The whole show was just 10 episodes of everyone abusing Xiaofan while he let them, and his love interest did nothing to stop any ot them. Luqing treated Xiaofan like a slave 'til the very end, you're absolutely right. He ordered him around constantly and never told him anything of what he was doing outside their house. Actually, I don't think they had a single conversation that was not about food or Xiaofan's horrible family. If they did, the series would have been very short, because the whole thing hinged on them refusing to talk to each other about anything real. How is that a love story, or even a relationship?
