I was rooting for him to be the ML actually since I watched him in Under the Skin. He fits the bill.
I like him too and am going to binge Under the Skin lol; he looked like he'd built himself up for his new role from what I could see in the airport pictures on Twitter, though I could be wrong and it's just a shorter haircut which gives that impression.
I hope Reba wouldn’t take the female police captain. That would be two the same roles
If this role gains her recognition and she is not taking on more costume dramas (which is disappointing) then another police role may be acceptable. The story is interesting for FPC but I don't think she is taking that role, it may be an older more veteran actress.
Wonderful news! 😊 Now, I should learn more about the ML – Jin Shi Jia (not familiar with him)! Anyone want…
The Wire was gripping stuff so I don't blame you for re-watching. British period costume dramas are my favourite to re-watch and I agree that sometimes romance gets in the way of a really good story. The dramas I watched filled up a bit of time with plots and actors I'd not considered before but I just want Reba on screen now to end the drought. I hope the hiatus has been worth it for her and look forward to her best years ahead.
Even with the massive black marketing aimed against The Long Ballad, it became a critically acclaimed, explosive…
Very succinct. I was referring to the black marketing too when I said TLB didn't get it's full due. Both Daegon and you have gladdened my heart so thank you.
I wish this video has subtitles so I can understand! Is it an interview of Reba’s first drama (there were clips…
I know there is one with subs because I watched it but I think it may no longer be available. I'm feeling a bit nostalgic about her because there's been so little new info about her for too long.
I don't know why this drama changed from CCTV to Zhejiang TV but it is the 4th biggest Satellite network in China and covers over 40 countries with many broadcasting channels, they have massive advertising revenues and we know Reba is an endorsement favourite and may be raking in the money for them already.
Running Man was a popular show produced by them and we know Reba was a contestant in it. (The ratings went high that time)
Zhejiang TV awarded The Long Ballad: OUTSTANDING TV Drama at the 32nd Zhejiang TV Peony Awards.
Diamond Lover, The King's Woman and Eternal Love have all been Zhejiang TV dramas. TLB wasn't one but they gave it an award (Probably saw the overseas potential of Reba as TLB did so well outside China!). If TBL had been launched from Zhejiang TV it would have had more recognition and awards perhaps?
There's probably more reasons and connections which I don't know but I can only applaud Zhejiang TV for investing in our girl for this new project and I hope this works out well for her and the whole drama.

Yes, I am a fan of crime and legal dramas but I'll watch anything if it grips my attention, recently it's been Under the Microscope, Warm on a Cold Night, Royal Rumours and The Blood of Youth. The first two were unusual or different and interesting to watch (the latter of the two could have been much better though). I've watched a spate British crime dramas which have been pretty good too. Thanks for the compliment but I think most of us on this page are Reba's loyal fans. I get a lot of background info from fans like yourself who do their research so thank you for that. Reba bears the brunt for poor scripts so I really want an exceptionally well written role for her this time. I do wish she'd go for quantity and quality at the same time though and spare us months of dullness. Can't wait to watch how she handles the new roles, maybe it's what she has always wanted and will excel at it. I don't know if there are translated works for both Reba's new dramas, it needs checking out.

Nothing wrong with a background check of her co-star and I'm happy about the Hong Kong veterans starring in this drama: I cut my C-drama teeth on Hong Kong films and dramas too. I'd read the novel if there is one for this drama. Can I say that I'm really too excited about the cop role and human trafficking theme for Reba, it's what I wished for since TLB. I hope it's for real and it's adapted well for screen. The girl needs a really brilliantly executed plot to shine and show her stuff.
