I like your article but I respectfully disagree in regards to Ha Ji Won's characters-they both start as strong and confident women but they tend to lose that strength as the drama progresses :(

I'm shocked and disappointed with a lot of the comments I've seen on this post and the previous one. I understand the apprehension completely but let's give the show a chance before we disregard it. It's true that most (not all) American remakes fail to be as good as the original but I feel that this will be different. I am American and anything that will bring attention to Asian entertainment in the states is always a good thing. I am a huge HYD fan (meaning I've read the manga, watched the anime and all the drama versions) and I'm excited about this. No, it's not going to be exactly like the manga but none of the versions were yet we enjoyed them despite the differences. I love the fact that the cast is so diverse, if this had been on a major network the cast would would be mostly all Caucasian.

I have only watched a few long dramas but I plan to watch more. Unexpected You which was 58 but I loved it and Smile, You was 45 and it was amazing as well.

yeah I ended up giving it a 10-it was funny and Moon Jae Shin is one of my favorite characters of all time. But it's fine if you can't get into it-a lot of people don't really care for historical dramas because of the political storylines, lengthy episode count (anywhere from 24-100+) and even the clothing and language. I'm trying to get my 13 yr old cousin to watch a historical drama and it's like pulling teeth:)

I would suggest Sungkyunkwan Scandal but I see that you dropped it-maybe Faith or Arang and the Magistrate?

I am a sucker for male actors in long hair and period clothing so I'm digging it but it really depends on how much you like historical dramas.

I'm good, how are you? I also really liked Lee Jong Suk in Secret Garden. I haven't watched School 2013 but I'm about to start because I loved him so much in I Hear Your Voice. Right now I'm watching Let's Go Watch Meteor Shower because it's the only version of Hana Yori Dango that I haven't watched.

I Hear Your Voice was amazing-I feel like I need to watch School 2013 because that actor is so fantastic. I'm enjoying Goddess of Fire so far but I always switch between current and older dramas
