I say yes- it will be a good way for 🐧 Tencent 🐧to test what's up with all this we-won't-say-these-are-rules-but-you-better-follow-the-rules nonsense that's going on right now. This was pretty low budget (relatively speaking) and honestly the source material (though I've only read the translation) really isn't BL at all. Unless they went the Word of Honor route and made it way more gay than the original novel, it's a pretty safe bet. Also bear in mind this is me trying to convince myself because I desperately want this drama to air. My boy Wang Duo can't be in two dramas that never see the light of day! 😮

That was the example I used too, but apparently Yin Yang Master was released in China then pulled a few days later so it technically got a domestic release before an international one. I loved YYM:DoE - have you seen the trailer for the sequel Long Ye Qu? It looks so good!

I feel the same- tried but could not get invested in it. I always feel strangely guilty when I don't enjoy something I know is high quality (sorry Joy of Life) but then become totally absorbed in a total dumpster fire of a production (oh Guardian, your amazing chemistry made up for so many other failings)
