He looks like he could climb to the top of the mountain and come back down alive if you know what I mean. You are right about the JJL page too- people are actually mad that he was a villian in a previous drama and now he dares to be the romantic lead in this one. Like how do you even argue with that?

I'll criticize what I perceive as bad acting but sometimes it isn't the actor so much as the performance the director wants from the actor. Conspiracy theory time: I think that's what happened with Zhao Li Ying in Legend of Fei. She got a lot of criticism for being unemotional in that role, but I think the director wanted her to be the traditional ML. If you watch that drama everything from her mannerisms to dialog is exactly what you'd expect from a ML in a wuxia drama. Again, that's just my theory.

As I'm watching this Jin Han really reminds me of Liam Neeson. I know that sounds weird but they both have strong, almost rough-hewn features but can convey really minute emotions. That conversation in episode 9 when Zhu Zan says "Everyone's forgotten her. If I forget her as well, how lonely will she be?" wow - you can really see the hope turning into anger turning into sadness- just good acting all around. I'm really enjoying this show.

agree! (also just finished ep 1) - I'm a person who will like anything w/ghosts and ghost-hunting so this one's a win for me. It's pretty light but the humor is fun. Spooky but no real scares.

I've started the novel- it isn't. It reminds me a little of Ancient Detective. But who knows what will be changed from the book to the live action.

I know, right? I started watching to (respectfully) ogle Jin Han but I'm actually enjoying the story. Love all the strong female characters- wouldn't want to cross Gramma that's for sure!
