There's a reason why this drama was a viewership disappointment in Korea.
I believe it was due to the writing of the story, some viewers deemed it either too complex and cliché, or others got a general sense of the story but something was missing. I read that many South Korean viewers were upset with the historical inaccuracy of the alternate world resembled in the drama.
