You’re definitely rightWhen it came to the romance between Jeong Suk and Dohyeon, I think we could’ve done…
Agree fully with your points. I also think that if they were to have a main lead romance the story should’ve been told in multiple years, which would also add weight to the characters story of struggle and perseverance. Having the story told over a period o two years would really drive home that these women were making a change that was hard to accept, and it wouldn’t change any of the arcs in a negative way. It would’ve allowed us the viewers to have a much better understanding of Jungsuk as a single mother and the breadwinner. it would’ve also been cool to see Minhos reaction to her mom dating, as we never get to see it, only acknowledgment of the latter is when Minho says goodbye to Doheyon. It would also polish Geumhuis relationship arch, it was the best by far and I really enjoyed it, but once again, her husband started treating her right again cause he suddenly remembered the past? It wasn’t a story where her husband sees her potential and will, which makes him fall in love all over again
I have an observation/question to make: I have just completed my watch, and was rather unsatisfied with the end, relationship-wise. As is seems as if we had invested a lot of time to develop the relationship between jungsuk and Dohyeon, for them to end their relationship at a fist-bump? I do understand that they were apart for four years, however I was lead to believe they were trying long distance dating. With all honesty, I couldn’t get a grasp of the timeline of their relationship progression, as it felt like Jungsuk has gotten her divorce and immediately started dating him. I don’t find it wrong that the drama HAS romance, especially because at no moment did this romance ever change the plot in a meaningful way, and although there was quite a bit of romance filler, it showed how multifaceted these characters could be. for example, Juri, which I at first perceived as very superficial and very “my way, my rules” type of personality, showed herself to be attentive and simple minded (“if I have fun with him it means I like him”). however at no moment did her romance mix with the main plot which I found nice. Going back to the main point however, I felt no chemistry between the two main leads, and I was left with the feeling that the main characters woke up one day and thought to themselves “today I gonna like him”. it was not like they were in a huge city and kept on bumping into each other. in fact everyone bumped into everyone in that village, so they’re frequent meet ups should we’re not considered by me as a big reason of why they were together. Regardless of that, I feel that they have wasted a great opportunity of making Jungsuk fall in love with Dohyeon via her son Minho, which was allegedly her biggest priority. however for most of the scenes her son and Dohyeon did cute things together, she was not present. overall I do agree that this was a pretty disappointing filler and if it had been worked out better (the whole kidnapping plot included, because it was very anticlimatic) it would’ve massively improved the watchability. Also absolutely hated the mother son plot-line. it was genuinely horrendous and it came out of nowhere. felt like the producer only remembered that plot line at the end and decided to improvise the rest of it:(
they really did become dumb. but also I though Logan and Sureyon were expecting Dantae to pop up at the wedding, which is exactly why I get so mad that Logan didn’t even look further into it. Also I don’t think Seok Hyung knew about the cancer, and they said he had given up on treating it, but literally why. He had his whole real ass family alive, and obviously his new family that he had met along the time
no cause I really resonate with ur emotions. I also felt that oh Yoon hui’s death could’ve been avoided if Cheon Seo Jin had jst taken the rock off of the pedals of Joo Dan Tae’s car( technically Yoon Hui’s), but I do understand her killing Yoon Hui, even though she had saved her life, Seo Jin always felt inferior to Oh Yoon Hui and I feel like everyone knows Seo Jin always wants to be the best no matter the cost. Anyways, I found Suryeon’s death so useles and dumb. And to think that if she was still alive so would Logan, but I guess she felt way too guilty. In a way I think she though of herself as the “last sacrifice” or as some sort of redemption. But still like… why. What happened to Na Ae gyo after that, did she also become an orphan?
I am loving the drama but I also feel like there is a bit of chemistry lacking in between them. I feel immense happiness while watching both of them together, but when jong Chan pets swung hyun’s head I feel more of a friendly/ somewhat parental love between them. I wish they held hands more often, but I’m absolutely obsessed with them🫶
ATEEZ SAY MY NAME!!@ I came simply to look at the ATEEZ members and support them but it got so interesting I always almost forgot they were there, besides Yunho, and whenever they popped up I would squeal
it wasn't a necessarily compelling story, but to see all these incredibly amazing, talented (and hot) actors/actresses share a screen is so worth it y'know. I was wheezing my way through this series
