Omg this is literally why I came here. I saw him first on Chicago Typewriter but I didn't know it was him in Happiness too. Sammeee, I saw some comments that tried to explain why they thought the drama "didn't make sense" and like... THAT'S THE POINT! The "angels" weren't angels and the doctrine that the New Truth follows was just an interpretation/story (which is proplbably mosly nonsense) that JJW made in several years. The "sinners" (are actually sinners lol but what adult doesn't commit a sin in his/her life) are actually just random people (maybe not hehe theories for S2) but yeah you get it. The arrowhead is basically just an extreme cult.
Liked it! The whole story just gets more built up from episode 1-5, then at the last quarter of ep 6, we finally get to see people realizing the absurdity of the "New Truth" and that the "Angels" were actually basically monsters.

THAT'S THE POINT! THIS IS A STORY WHERE EVERYTHING GOES DOWNHILL. THE HYPOCRISY, THE GASLIGHTING, THE MASS MANIPULATION, EVERYTHING. MOST THE PEOPLE LIVING IN THAT WORLD WERE BLINDED BY THEIR BELIEFS WHILE THE PEOPLE WHO KNOW THAT IT WASN'T RIGHT(or good?idk, I don't want to dictate what's right or wrong lol) WERE PERSECUTED AND KILLED.
The "angels"? Depends on your interpretation.
1. If you believe in predetermined fate, then that could possibly it. That would explain why JJW received his "prophecy" even before he committed a sin.
2. It is also possible that those weren't "angels" and the "prophecies" aren't actually God's will but the Devil's to ensue chaos on earth etc etc
3. Can also be something like in Jupiter Ascending because it looks like the "angels" were extracting something from the people they "punish"
There are more theories possible and this is why I really like this. The arrowhead is operating on "wrath" tho, which is one of the seven deadly sins. I'm curious about them. 🤧
