beautifully executed, not enough to make justice for the plot
dear hongrang is the beauty of tragedy and chaos. it's such a sad piece, but you just can't stop looking at it, wanting to witness its deepness.what a shame this is such a short drama. this plot could've been better used with a longer duration, that could've avoided some plot holes like the lack of construction of some characters and their relationships.
although this drama is a masterpiece, with an amazing photography, sound effects and ost, it still bothers me the place female characters are giving in korean dramas, especially the saeguk ones, where the oppression to women can be "justified" by the period. you can say that Min Yeonui and Kkot-nam have important roles in the drama but the way they are portrayed, personality wise, tells me that women in dramas are almost always shown with a certain intention, visible in the way they are built - only being motivated by men and the pain they leave behind. I say this specifically thinking about Jaeyi's character, who seemed like she was there just to be oppressed, a love interest, someone rejected by her family that just stayed in the same position for the whole story, only being set free by the love and protection of a man.
this being said, the performance of all cast was amazing. the entirety of the actor and actresses gave their everything for the roles, specially Lee and Kim Jaewook, that are always marvelous in my opinion.
i really liked the construction of the story and the way things took place, but unfortunately, once again, this drama couldn't have been only 11 episodes long, and this is the biggest issue it has in my opinion. some things remained unanswered, and even though this could add to the mysterious feeling of the drama some aspects of it could have been more developed and, even then, leave space for viewers interpretations.
with that being said, this is a good watch in my opinion, especially for those who are into drama and mystery medias that touch some dark or unusual themes.

Destined With You was saved by the chemistry of the main couple. as this is a romance drama I was expecting that this would happen, but I didn't thought only the romance could carry this drama for so long.in my opinion, the story is really weak, filled with plot holes and unnecessary fillers. the lack of strong support characters and of a solid background for the couple really bothered me, like only the two of them existed in the drama at all! the colleagues of Hongjo are so annoying and didn't add anything to the story, and the same happened with Shinyu's parents, whose relationship were so poorly written. the second lead didn't played a big part at all in the story and also bothered me a lot throughout the drama... I think that character development is one of the most important things a drama needs to have, and in the case of Destined With You it was almost like it wasn't really there.
the comedy scenes were not really helpful with the drama pace at all and this drama almost needs to be cooked 😂 you have to wait quite some episodes for the story to flow and to be a little more interesting.
but even with the bad points I made, the drama is really entertaining and cute! the photography is beautiful and it might be worth it for you if you're really into romance and is interested somehow in the main cast. Jo Boah and Rowoon had great chemistry and their acting is so good here! I really want to see them work together again!
overall, this is a weak drama for me, but with some potential to be a cute and fun watch with a little patience. I don't usually rewatch shows, but even if I did, it would not be the case here.

it had a lot more potential, but it really is a good watch!
just watched tgbm for the insane hype on social media and I have to say I wasn't really disappointed, but I don't think this is such a big title as the people say online... of course it's not a bad drama, but some flaws storywise and plot holes made me question such a high rating to this...story: for me, this is the weakest part of the drama. I've seen so many people saying that this seemed so slow paced and so long, but in my opinion this drama should have at least 16 episodes to be a better watch. I believe that this drama would move a lot faster with more episodes because this way there would be more room for other happenings rather than just the recover of Kangho (I do know this is the point and the most important part of the drama, but I would never thought he would stay sick until episode 11/12!). this drama also didn't really worked as a drama + comedy show in my opinion... some issues here are way more important than they appear in the episodes, like the abusive household Kangho lived in the childhood! the way he was left with no apparent traumas or resentment seemed quite unrealistic to me. I hope I don't sound sadic(?) with this opinion 😅 don't get me wrong, but I think Kangho would be a character a lot deeper than he actually was in the drama if he dealed with healing... I know he lived the way he did mostly because of his mother influence, but I was hoping it was better showed in the show.
personally some characters actions are what bothered me the most, like the sudden change of thought Mijoo had about Kangho, or the sudden personality changes Youngsoon had, but beside this I really felt connected with the families, and almost all situations showed made me relate with mine :)
acting: even with the medium development of characters the cast here is fantastic! I really like Lee Dohyun works and think he is such a talented guy. I didn't know the Jin Youngsoon actress before, but now I really am looking forward to see more of her works!! also kudos for the little twins, they are really charismatic and cute :)
music: I really pay attention to the OST in dramas and they really play a very big role for me, but this drama has a lot more dialogues or scenes with instrumentals. the OST only appears few times and shortly, but beside this, I think the songs are great!
rewatch value: I don't usually rewatch shows... so I'm voting in this based if I did lol
even with some issues relating especially to Jin Youngsoon character, I think I would like to rewatch this drama because of the cozy vibes. maybe the flashback episodes, or the ones with family reunions, or the 13th one to have some fun!
overall, I think the good bad mother had a way bigger potential... they had such important themes to explore and I think they could have done a better job script wise :) even so, this is not a bad drama! maybe this is all about my personal expectations and how my personal approach would be related to some parts of the story, so feel free to chat in the comments if you want to!
